No announcement if a player was released to add CB Chris Lewis-Harris, but the Giants don't have to release anyone since 3 drafted players (Barkley, Hill, and McIntosh) have not signed and don't yet count against the 90 man roster.
I think we can anticipate some adjustments with cornerback(s) leaving and running back(s) added.
So we are playing 9 LBs and 1 DB?

When he was at Ohio St, his closest friend on the team was Robert Clark.
Around the time the Giants drafted Apple, Clark transferred from Ohio St to Virginia Tech.
Clark is a slot receiver and he was one of the 36 tryout players for the Giants this weekend.
Probably means nothing- or perhaps a gesture of the new management to give Apple's close friend a tryout. You heard the new Head Coaches positive words toward Flowers Friday, and its possible this is more of the same. Lets face it-having these 2 1st round picks succeed is in everyone's best interest.

Interesting piece of information re Apple and Clark - says a lot about a coaching staff that appears to be building trust by listening and supporting its players. Also loved how Shurmur publicly defended Ereck Flowers yesterday by saying that "Collins should let Flowers speak for himself". These are smart small steps that have a big impact on building trust.
For some reason I do trust Apple. I know he was dog shit last year but he’s a legit talent who unquestionably showed that talent his rookie year. He was a legit DB in year one. Not terrific by any stretch but respectable for anyone let alone a rookie. Guys checked out all over that defense last year. They won’t this year, Apple included. Maybe I’m a fool for thinking this way but I see a lot of players playing much better in 2018 than last year.
A lot of teams have one excellent corner, an okay CB on the other side, and not a whole lot of depth.
DB was one position Reese placed a lot of emphasis on.

17 DB's drafted in 11 drafts.
Gettleman is obviously trying to load our pool up and hope we can find a couple of diamonds in the rough. We're going to need it. DB is definitely a pretty big concern for now.
IK some are quick closers, but unless some have long arms, and while I'm not hoping for a George Iloka it's be nice if 3 of them were 6'/6'1" + category.
Hog mollies on O and Smurfs on D?

It's not as if there's a large number of available Cornerbacks that fit that description. There's a reason why Cornerbacks that check the boxes for size/speed get drafted.
I do want to see more of this kid Haley though
Hopefully we will land at least one more CB who can contribute once teams begin to make their cuts. We're in an excellent position to do so, as we're 2nd in line for waiver claims.
Assuming that 3-4 guys have the ability to turn their head, your guarantee is the understatement of the year.
There are needs, and there are needs. Some are more dire than others. Clearly, DG felt that CB was not one of them.
