Janet never was in the league of the other girls on that show.
I'm surprised no one has mentioned the following, as a kid growing up in the 80's watching reruns of these shows...
1) Barbara Eden (I Dream of Jeannie)
2) Elizabeth Montgomery (Bewitched)
3) Maureen McCormick (Brady Bunch)
Back to the topic, even as a kid, never liked Kidder as Lois Lane. It was badly cast and later on read that Anne Archer almost got that role. I think she would have been a perfect Lois Lane.
Thought Major Nelson was a total dick. I mean, she's a genie, she will do ANYTHING, you're her fucking MASTER, fercrisakes, and you want to date other women? In front of her? Always thought he was the biggest dumbass on TV.

I kinda liked Bob Newhart's wife, too.
+1.
And Pleshette was already a petite smokeshow before that series; with nice thumbs too.
One ended up being batshit crazy and the other one morphed into looking like my uncle Paulie with a deeper voice.
Margot Kidder was bipolar. Mental illness is a serious thing, she didn't simply 'go batshit crazy'.
And Kathleen Turner aged terribly, but in her day she was smoking.
Turner had to take medications that made her balloon like Jerry Lewis. As noted above, Kidder was bi-polar. I hope some of the guys commenting in this thread never get sick. Heads up: it’s a humbling experience .

What's with all the extra snarky a-holes today?

Even as a kid who was really too young to figure out why, one of my first crushes from TV was Loni Anderson.
Others:
Jeannie
Heather Thomas
Lisa Turtle
Janet Jackson (Diff'rent Strokes, not the too young version from good Times)
Elizabth Shue
That's just off the top of my head.
I am kinda surprised she made it to 67 ... She had a tough bout with Manic depression.
Good for her for staying strong.
Dude your're old. Not as old as Beez, but still
Hell yeah.

R.I.P.
Me too.
thirded.
Sneaking off to see her in The Hitchhiker on HBO was a great moment for young JPK
I was hoping someone was going to bring her up. I was in love with her and our sixth grade teacher looked just like her.
