Dez could possibly be any worse than Marshall who just about single handedly blew that Lions game by dropping a sure first down / touch down and showed his worth (less) from game two. Dez is 5 years younger and makes that catch! In addition to many, many other catches Marshall was NOT able to make. 5 years is huge. Dez would be a big upgrade over Marshall. For people that keep saying he's be a distraction, maybe? For people who say he's lost a step, I say that system and QB did not complement his talent. When Romo was there, Bryant was a different player and I highly doubt it's because of age. 29 ain't that old, and he was 27 when Prescott took over.

He turned down a multiyear deal from the Ravens and wants a one year prove it deal. It sounds like he can be had for a friendly deal ... no one wants him.

And in their world, that's true. For most of us, NFL minimum seems like a fortune for doing something we'd love to be able to do. They don't have that perspective, and in the world of pro athletes, money does correlate with respect, though they're not exactly the same.

Ellison will stay in line as the true TE, with Barkley being a threat to run/block or go out and act as essentially a fourth receiver with his pass catching abilities.

hasn't taken a shot at Dez. Yeah, he's sucked since the foot injury, but he is only 29, maybe he gets it together. His game was never about speed anyway. That said, if a team gives him a shot, it won't be the Giants.

Dez is a jag too. If he were to be signed here ok we’d get on board but he’s not that good anymore and he won’t be that good here. Plus, he’s Dez. If you’re gonna have a mouth you better be able to beat double coverage. Dez can’t even beat good single coverage.

Jenkins might have a big mouth, but I haven't read anything about him being a bad locker room guy or not working his ass off since he got here.

I actually believe that the signing of Latimer for the subordinate role he will most likely play was a very good move.

He has size, speed, vertical, hands, blocking ability, and is used to being no higher than #3 in the overall scheme of things. He is still young, presumably at peak physical prime, and has had time to work on fluidity and setting up his cover man, which were weaknesses.

Most games he will probably be statistically quiet, but he will be the reason that SB had that 60 yard run for TD, rather than a 15. And if we finally have someone more skillful than Mickey Mouse running our offense he is going to kill teams that only have 2 or 3 CBs who really belong on an NFL roster.

GM would be foolish spending real money on the various risks Dez would bring including complaints about not being the focus of the offensive game plan.

I think Lattimer will win the #2 WR job as he has some experience and potential.

However, I would not be shocked if R. Lewis developed a bit and really challenged.

If we were SURE that DEZ could be DEZ of course we should sign him; however, there is a reason the Cowboys cut him.

For all the shit he took (rightfully so) for being lazy and underachieving Randle put up 797 and 938 yards in Odell’s first 2 seasons. With Shepard, Engram, and now Barkley, the other perimeter WR doesn’t need to be a star. Or even a has been star like Dez. I’m perfectly fine with Latimer getting a shot.
