Not even for other sports teams. This is the only site I look at besides news.

its actually the only message board I use, sports or otherwise.

Sports are so oversaturated that I have no interest in getting my news or have a discussion from multiple sites.

and this is the only board I go to, period. The quality of dialogue here for other professional sports (at least NY sports) is great, plus there's some random levity sprinkled in. I wish there weren't limitations on what can be discussed here, but it's a great forum.

which was run by Chad Ford and ultimately bought by ESPN (now insider). In the past I’ve used realGM for the Knicks, Scout boards for the Mets & used BBWC in the early 2000’s. Strictly BBI now.

There are a lot of great posters there. But its very poorly run. And trust me Keith there are more than 1 mods there that turned into a complete asshole. You wouldnt even recognize MightyGiants anymore.

I know some people don't like that we have limits here on what we can talk about, and that place has some good people there, but it's too toxic with the political talk. If you are on a certain side of the aisle you are the enemy, and the insults and flame wars that ensue...well, I don't even have the time or inclination any more...and I don't understand how all these years later they do as well. More than a few good posters have been chased from there because it's just too incendiary and childish.

No. I like to keep BBI going. I like SOME form of anonymity here in this day and age. I grew up in the good old days of message boards, e-mails, and AOL Instant Messenger.

What remains cool about BBI is we make fun of each other (like loling about dep teaching a class) just by what we say to one another. Just a bunch of words and letters. Every form of jabbing on social media is the same thing:

Person 1: this topic is stupid or I disagree with it

Person 2 and everyone else sifts through person 1's pictures looking for some sort of device to fire back at person 1 with. It gets way too personal.

I think I read that was the excuse as to why Giants.com was ridding way of their message boards is in favor of social media discussions.

I think I still have a profile I set up from there in 2003, maybe posted 20 times, ever.

Well said Jim, very true words. You are a wise man. Agreed some good people their but the toxicity and all that, BBI is like internet heaven with the new rules. At first I didn't like the BBI change, but it truly is a great place to visit and get away from all that.

I missed it Being gone for a while, especially since I was given no reason but I'm very thankful I was removed, it's been much better for my online time and expletive, and feels much cleaner and more mature. It was for the best. Miss some of the others bro, enjoy your posts here a lot . Stay fly , -Osi

is I still belong to 3 sports email listservs. Been so for more than 20 years. One is a Soccer-Coach list but that one is not active. The other two which are still going storng, albeit in fits and starts, are a BoSox Mailing list and a Celtics Mailing list.

I had gone to Giants.com about 15 years ago. Got Banned. Re-registered as Sock_Puppet and trolled the shit out of them. I also use the same profile to troll igglephans, but that is only done around the Giants/Eagles matchups or if the Eagles suffer an embarrassing defeat. After a few days of trolling and pissing off Eagles fans, I become bored with them.

BBI is in a class by itself. Now some of our posters? Not so much...

I started on bcwc then came here around 96-97 and have been exclusive ever since.

I’ll go on and look periodically but never post. Some are knowledgeable like UK Giants but I don’t think most know all that much but there are some serious fans. What I don’t like the most there is the political correctness. Everyone seems so sensitive to criticism that one almost walks on eggs when there’s disagreement.

I’m curious about what some old time BBI people think about BBI. It seems that many people don’t post anymore and maybe don’t come here anymore. I wonder if this is because there seems to be way more trolling than years ago. I see some thread starters and don’t bother to read more because I know it’s bullshit but they also infect what would otherwise be very good threads. Do others see problems here?

If you're a fan of Giants history (and this is a shout out to truebluelarry, in particular) there's really no where else to go. If you haven't read some of the historical pieces on the team and franchise, you've really missed some great stuff.

Also, anytime something of non-football significance happens in the world, the Corner Forum is all over it first.

Game previews and reviews are amazing too. (If you want to see a good mea culpa, read Eric's review of the 2008 NFC Championship game - priceless).

I am a member of a closed Facebook page and TBH, it's pretty cool. Adults talking Giants football and acting like, well, adults.

No trolls, no dupes and even differences of opinions are handled without the insults or name calling.

Even with the occasional board dictator or dickbag. I’ve been part of other sports message boards and none have ever been this extensive. Giants.com was pretty cool back in the early 1990’s but when the net got better, the chat room evolved into a crappy comment section.

As a Mets fan, I love the NFT thread options.

A much as I visit this site and enjoy it. The lack of ability by some to handle differences of opinion become tiresome

I only visit those when I want to read about the Giants but this site is slow. Giants.com is poor quality though and BBC greys very little traffic and tends to be pretty negative. BBI is by far the best.

I think it has it right with its mostly Laissez faire approach while still having rules, so if you're truly an asshole you can't get away with it. I post on HFBoards for hockey and it's a bunch of 14 year old mods giving out infractions for nothing. You have to walk on eggshells there. Though I think they relaxed their rules significantly lately.
