Shocked that he made it out of the first round. I could be way off base, im also youngish, but he reminds me a bit of Larry Allen with more athleticism. Maybe I’m making that comp strictly because of raw power. To nitpick He seems to get that left arm outside the shoulder pad and hooks slightly but that’s just refining his hand placement. What a gem
How does Will Hernandez compare to Quenton Nelson Â
Good question. In part, it may have to do with ND playing better teams; hence, we have a better barometer of how Nelson would do? And maybe because Nelson pulls better??
but first video - needs to not get his arms wrapped around defender. Seems like when they see a guy has a tendency to not keep his hand placement within defender's frame - they start looking for it every game.
Cool video breakdowns of some plays. Everything that I saw of him at the Senior Bowl looks great. You'd think that after UTEP had such a down year that he might look out of his element, but he definitely belongs. Can't wait for him to play for the Giants.
RE: How does Will Hernandez compare to Quenton Nelson Â
Nelson is the Saquon Barkley of guards, a generationally transformational prospect. Iirc Hernandez had more BP reps, but in game Nelson seemed stronger, routinely forklifting defenders, could be technique is a factor. And technique wise Nelson appears completely pro-ready.
I think Hernandez pulls better, up there with the best, he is athletic and fast and looks good in open space. I hope to see the Giants to use that as a weapon as part of trench warfare - i hope it's not outlawed by the Geneva Convention. Think of the poor LBas and DBs when they see this 330 lb monster running at them at full speed.
Really looking forward to seeing Solder and Hernandez Â
I really like Hernandez' comments about protecting Eli and defenders having to go through him to get to Barkley, and am hoping that rubs off on the rest of this group. They were sorely lacking that edge last season.
Get him the Gold jacket 🧥, it’s going to take time he could turn out to be special or even very special but let’s not forget it’s a mans game in the NFL. Many of us felt Flowers would be the second coming of the Hulk not much difference in these two guys other than height and foot speed let’s hope the final results don’t take as long to evaluate.
