NFT: Help! Is there anything fun to do in Dallas?

BobR in Durham : 5/17/2018 5:10 pm
I'll be in Dallas for a week on business and was wondering what there is to do there. Any suggestion by BBIers who have spent time visiting there (or living there) regarding sites to see, bars, restaurants or microbrews to try? Any recommendations in Deep Ellum?
Thanks for any help.

I was sitting in my 1st grade class and remember crystal clear the announcement of JFK's assassination over the intercom. Not fun but you're right, that's a must see.

of your political affilation, the George W Bush Presidential Libray is on the campus of Southern Methodist University and has some pretty cool stuff. They have the gun that was found in the hole with Saddam Hussein, pieces of the WTC, an exact replica of the Oval Office, all the gifts that he received while President.
Dealey Plaza is a must see, imo. I could have thrown a football

I thought that the museum there was well worth visiting.

I recommend the 6th Floor Museum. I got chills standing where history changed in a manner of seconds.

For some good Texas BBQ. Go early as their are long lines.
Be prepared for the Texas heat. We are already in the low 90’s.

JAM Productions is the top jingle house going anywhere in the world. The owners bought out the famous PAMS operation, also based in Dallas, that made jingles for many of the top stations like WABC, WIBG Philadelphia, WKNR Detroit and so on back in the days of classic Top 40 radio.

beat up a few Cowboys fans, they're everywhere.

But, you know, somebody might take me seriously. Then, there's the investigation and the law suits....So, just find an Olive Garden and have a nice meal. :)
Spent a few months in Dallas on business. City is widespread

and they try to be fairly modern. Bunch of good restaurants but no more than any big city.

Deep Ellum should be your nightlife spot. Do a little internet searching and you will see why...

1. Go over to Fort Worth and see the Cattle Drive through the town
2. Go to a rodeo

For food go to the Greenville section of east Dallas, there are a number of super restaurants. My favorite was "The Grape".

I enjoyed it a lot when I visited Dallas
I toured
pjcas18 : 5/18/2018 2:48 pm : link
AT&T Stadium when I was there for work, and it's truly an incredible facility.

Sad that the Giants and Jets spent around 30% more and the stadium isn't close to as impressive.

I get the two teams share a stadium, and Texas vs NY/NJ prices could be different and space is an issue, but it's not just the business costs and space I don't think.

Thanks for all of the suggestions

Deep Ellum, Bishop Arts District, 6th Floor Museum/Dealey Plaza, Ross Perot Museum and Uptown area sound worthwhile. Thanks Rick.
I'll leave the titties and decorating the astroturf to the next trip.
