NFL.com ranked the top QB-RB-WR Trios League-wide

Jerry "Championship" Reese : 5/18/2018 7:38 pm
Guess where our beloved New York Giants ranked? 6th! Loink! With the addition of Nate Solder, Will Hernandez, Omameh, a healthy and of course Barkley this offense should be revamped. This team is a Superbowl contender if the defense plays anywhere near 2016 level when they carried us to the playoffs. We still have many of the same players on D and a better coordinator with a more agressive scheme and some great potential young players. We could be on store for the greatest improvement in record from one season the next ever for the Giants.
Interesting article,

not so much for your post. Could have introduced that a bit better. Hard to argue with any of the rankings. One thing stands out, is the lack of number 1 receivers out there. Drop off after the first 5 or 6 is quite significant.
If the OL comes together ...

We have a formidable trinity.
we'd be #1 if it weren't for our QB
SHO'NUFF : 5/18/2018 8:12 pm : link
having a fork stuck in his back
I think we should be #5

Ahead of the Vikings trio.

Also thought to myself as I was reading this that if you added in TE, we may be #1 overall !
Ummm, no

We were 3 and 13 last year. We should be better this year, but a championship. Not going to happen.
Callaway needs to have someone up here
jpkmets : 5/18/2018 8:57 pm : link
even though the run scored, that's a huge possible play.

de Grom definitely running low and Mickey has no one up -- could have been a big inning brewing.

damn, sorry wrong thread

6th seems about as high as one could expect here .

Need to see if the line can protect Eli and make some holes for Barkley.

Potential to be top 2 or 3 if the line holds.
That is a generous, generous ranking...

with a 37 year old QB, who is a very mixed bag the last five years, a superstar WR coming off a major injury, and a RB who has yet to take a snap (granted, he has been touched by the hand of God).

Somewhere in the mid to late teens seems more rational...
Honestly, the offensive line play has been so poor over the past years
Jerry "Championship" Reese : 5/18/2018 9:19 pm : link
We honestly can't say he is awful or finished until we see how he does with a functional o-line. If the line plays well, Eli could have at least 2 more solid years. If the line plays dominantly, Eli could play well for more than 2 years if his health holds. 2-3 years of top notch Eli Manning, win a Superbowl or two and then let Eli Manning retire a Superbowl champion. That's how u would write the story.

Right. Which is why a 6th ranking in this CBS article is very aggressive.

He's only the voice of reason if you look at the worst case scenario. OBJ's injury is supposedly not of the career ending variety, Barkley no matter what the haters say is considered the best running back prospect in at least a decade, and sure Eli is on the decline, but he's still probably better than half the QBs in the league, since there are many shitty QBs in the league.
Against what any naysayer might pander,

The Giants are going to be contenders this year if the offensive line plays well and we stay healthy (knock on sacred wood).

Of course it does. You wanted a QB. But I’ll refrain from telling you how I really feel about your post because you seem to be a protected species around here. I’ve seen others criticize you and get a little “nudge” from one of the mods. As pathetic as most of your posts are, nobody is allowed to call you out. Congratulations?

Let’s recap - I said Manning has struggled, Beckham is coming off injury, and Barkley hasn’t played a down yet in the NFL. In other words, a fairly clear, factual response.

So I’m not sure what exactly the hell I wrote that triggered that response, but by all means fire away if you have anything remotely pertinent or interesting to say.

I agree that the ol is the key to the success of the running
Ira : 5/19/2018 6:26 am : link
and passing game. The ol should be improved this year, but we can't be sure about how much better it will be until the season starts and the games count. And the degree of improvement of the ol is sure to have a great influence on how successful those three players are.
