NFT: Yankees vs. Royals; Yanks up 5-2, Top 5

Dave in Hoboken : 5/19/2018 8:38 pm
Ok, got to watch up until Hicks hit his 2nd inside the park HR of the year, then had to step out unfortunately up until now. So, not sure how we got to 5-2. If someone feels like posting it in here, go for it. 5-2 Yanks right now, top 5.

Glad he got called up.
Andujar
GruningsOnTheHill : 5/19/2018 9:19 pm : link
Weird approach to the plate; looked like he was on roller skates. Ugly.
Andujar is not a good

Excellent cutoff and relay throw made by the Royals...

Throw did not lend itself to a stretch. Off line and skipped throw.

Great throw by Andujar. I see no problem with his fielding. He occasionally makes a minor mistake, but he's a hell of a lot better than we were lead to believe. Not every MLB 3rd baseman needs to be Brooks Robinson or Mike Schmidt.
Yes
GruningsOnTheHill : 5/19/2018 9:40 pm : link
That was a rocket of a throw on a short hop. In fairness, I would be lucky to come up with 1 out of 10 of those. At least 4 of 10 would nail me in the package.
great

Every player in tonight's @yankees starting lineup (complete batting order and the pitcher) was under 29 yrs. old, marking the Yanks' first such game since 9/26/70 vs. Detroit according to @EliasSports

There was something a few weeks ago along the same line. Maybe it was under 30.

balls and strikes. There was one AB for Judge tonight where he took 4 pitches that were either just on the edge or balls on both sides of the plate and he's called out on strikes. I know the ump almost had his head knocked off but he missed way too many pitches after that when Chapman was pitching. Keep an ump behind the plate, let him run the game, but have a machine call the pitches.

yes, he is one of the best in the game! Add a SP to the top of the rotation and the yanks will be VERY hard to beat come playoff time
Gleyber was never scouted as a major power hitter.
manh george : 5/19/2018 10:42 pm : link
He will be one. When a 21 year old kid has a stroke like that and an upper torso like that, his power by age 24 or so will be immense.

Fun.

And, yeah, I would so love that they figure out a way to keep Frazier up and get him enough ab's. He admits that he had a flaw in his swing last year, and believes that it is close to 90% gone. When it's 100% gone, the kid will be a superior hitter. Good article from February on fixing his swing linked.

Since April 21, the Yankees have outscored opponents 145-79.

That's +66 in that time period.

Were at the quarter pole and the Yanks have the best record in baseball. Not much to complain about, but we will.

Boones post game didnt sound promising for Frazier. They asked him about what the plan is for him and his response was something to the effect of, they havent decided yet on Frazier and they will have to make a decision tonight with a Day game after a night game. Im guessing by those comments that he gets sent down for a RP. I sure hope Im wrong. Frazier belongs here

I wouldn't trade Sevy for any pitcher in baseball. Especially when you take into consideration his age. He's still so young.

This team has been on a hell of a run since late April. It's almost been a full month now of this. It's a stacked team.

Yeah, Frazier walking/taking pitches, is the reason he stays up....

He's not staying up unless somebody gets traded, or gets hurt. I'd like to see it, but just where is he playing?
