Ok, got to watch up until Hicks hit his 2nd inside the park HR of the year, then had to step out unfortunately up until now. So, not sure how we got to 5-2. If someone feels like posting it in here, go for it. 5-2 Yanks right now, top 5.
Today, lets get up and do 150 deep knee bends tonight after 8pm...holding each down stroke for 20 seconds.
Now, tomorrow do the same starting at 2pm
Then lets each determine what day in the next two weeks we are next able to do 150 deep knee bends and hold each for 20 seconds at the bottom of the motion.
Meanwhile, lets critique Sanchez for not hitting and catching so well the next few games
Anyway, the boys are starting really hit. Austin does not want to go down. Stanton really heating up..
Love Coney's Pulp Fiction quote - they can get medieval on you......
This is a game thread from last night against the same team. Not really a big deal.
Or, you can start a game thread once in awhile.
If I'm home and no one starts one at the start of the game, I will start one, begrudgingly, as I'm superstitious as hell. I started Fridays and they lost. Don't want to be a jinx.
How hard is it to start one per day? We don't need the lineup posted. But that is the last time I whine about it.

I started this one last night. Apparently, people don't want to start one for some reason. *shrug*
But what he does is pretty limited. He can only play first (and not very well at that) and he doesn't do much against righties.
Fair. I like him a lot though and think there's a place for him even with Bird.
Greg, he's as good as Bird is in the field and speaking of limited so is Bird. Not saying Austin is better than Bird as a hitter, but normally 1st baseman are 1st baseman only, but Austin can play OF in a pinch.
I think you are under selling him.

I wholly disagree about Austin being as good as Bird in the field. While he has improved a decent amount in the field this year, there were several tough one hops that he didnt get that Ive seen Bird make fairly easy work of. Its def fairly close, but Bird is def smoother in the field and better receiving throws

I've seen one throw, and a crappy one too, that Austin missed. Neither is close to Mattingly or Martinez with the glove. And I think Bird has substantially more time at first than Austin.
Now who would I chose if I could only have one = yeah Bird even though his medical history is garbage (yeah Austin is spotty.)
Bird also doesn't have much of a platoon split while Austin's is huge. A right-handed hitting platoon 1b/DH is a guy who doesn't give you much roster flexibility.

I looked up the splits for Bird. .168 vs RH and .286 vs left last year..now he doesn't have much in the way of ABs.

Fear of jinxing.....only reasonable explanation
One of the reasons he can relax about his margin for error is the forgiving nature of the stadium on a fly ball pitcher
This is pure speculation but is one trade option packaging him with one of our position prospects for a genuine number 2 to Severino?
Still leaves us with an SP depth issue but thats easier to solve than getting a genuine close to ace pitcher?

agreed. Cone and Kenny is my favorite team. But Rucco is decent. So much better than Kay
I wonder when Ruocco takes over for Kay.

Up to about .790 OPS. The Yanks will take that with his D/base running/patience any day of the week.
absolutely.

What am I missing?
The Yankees have 9 home Runs in last 20 hours!
