Mine is Cafe Altura. I've used it both with an espresso machine and an aeropress. I've also used their freeze dried coffee when I was in a hurry. It comes in whole bean, ground, with or without caffeine and in different roasts. I get it on amazon. Most or all of their offerings are organic. But the bottom line is the taste which is excellent. It costs a little more, but it's worth every penny.
I started this thread for me and for all of us to learn from each other about brands of coffee that we might not be familiar with. So, if you have a brand that you think others will like, please share your experience.

Jersey Shore Coffee Roasters - ( New Window )
And I like it.
Plus, it's just delicious!
Invader Coffee - ( New Window )
Hot coffee, in the morning I'd rather take the lighter blends, city roasts like DD, while I'll go for something mroe roasted/heavier in the afternoon.
That guy's a character, but the main reason to go in there is their scones, although the smell of their coffee beans roasting is always a great greeting. I've bought beans from him and had less than optimal results at home, though.
I overload the coffeemaker by 2 scoops - 10 cup pot, use 12. Strong, round flavor.
Hate Starbucks. Burned beans ain't for me!
Like beer, after a while they all taste the same.
lol
Makes me wonder though. Can you still get instant coffee? Hard to believe maybe for younger people but when I was just starting to drink coffee (late 60s) there were a lot of people who actually drank instant all the time. Nasty stuff if you drank it black but not so bad with cream and sugar.
I get it at Costco when it's on sale, I grind the beans and drink pots of it every day.
You might want to check the ingredients in those creamers. mostly artificial crap.
Lots of great local roasters out there, but the Aldi 12 0z is selling for less than $5 a bag.... it compares to Peets and Starbucks at about half the price.
I like to mix it up, and I love finding "Locals"...but the 6 am cup is The Barissomo Honduran is the "House Cup"--- and the San Pablo Estate Peru is also a nice option.
It comes with my double money back guarantee.
Somebody mention Jamaican Blue Mountain. I used to get it right in Kingston to bring home - directly from the distributor. It was always to weak for me, but people liked it as gifts...
It's actually pretty popular in Europe, especially in offices. There have been a lot of advancements in freeze-drying and I was shocked at how good the quality has gotten.
I used to work with a contract manufacturer who specialized in freeze-drying. They are the ones who do the majority of the freeze-drying for the fruit in cereal, but their biggest business is freeze-drying coffee. Every meeting, we had the freeze-dried coffee. Actually was better than most regular coffee.
In the US, freeze-dried coffee share is far less than it was in the 70's, but it has rebounded a bit with starbucks Via and other specialty items.

LOL - yep, Nescafe is the rage in Europe. Done a couple Viking cruises and their machines use Nescafe and it is ridiculously good.
The Suez Canal pilots asked if we could spare a jar or two, but we did not carry it.

SANKA

About 10 years ago I took a trip to Bolivia. They are a relatively poor country with poor soil, but one thing they can grow is coffee beans. And, all the restaurants serve Nescafe. I couldn't believe that I had to suffer with instant coffee in a country that's known for growing coffee beans.
BTw, a newspaper here did a blind test of some famous chain brands -- Starbucks etc
The winner: McDonalds
Black Rifle Coffee - ( New Window )
Yes! Their rum was pretty good, too.
Their croissants are also the best I’ve had on the East Coast.
