Practice was over and done with, but Ereck Flowers and Nate Solder did not come off the field.
Instead, the two offensive tackles walked to the side on a sun-splashed Monday as the Giants held their first organized team activity practice of the spring. Flowers took a knee as Solder jogged to pick up a large blue blocking pad and then jogged back to where Flowers was catching his breath. The two proceeded to take turns holding the pad and working their arms with some offensive line drills as almost all of their teammates headed inside. |
Well, it certainly appears the Giants haven't given us much choice but to pray for that.
Going from Pugh as a "leader" to Solder is such a massive upgrade. Pugh seemed like a clown off the field and quite simply was soft when it came time to suiting up and playing. It's hard being an effective leader when you are doing that.
I wonder if they will give Flowers a look at RG? I'm just looking forward to this Oline playing nastier and with some attitude...
This is great OTA news.

Spell correction - NICE TO SEE
Great way to show support to a struggling teammate. Obviously he's new and "playing nice" on day 1, but still - a very proactive & positive spin on an otherwise difficult situation

They're not even in training camp yet.
