I believe from my own observation that Eli needs more work in preseason games. I don't know if stats would back me up but it has seemed to me that the less he played in the preseason the more likely he was to be flat out of the starting gate. Is this just me or has anyone else noticed the same thing?
Seems like he plays about the same amount every year
Didn't help us avoid them last season.....
Especially when you have new players and a new system, they should play more in preseason, than they have in the past....this offense has floundered out of the gate the last several seasons...
Just two years ago, we beat Dallas 20-19 in the opener. Eli had 3TD's and an INT.
The next two games, he had over 350 yards passing in both.

Stop it! You're citing facts. Just ... stop it.
Not that complicated
But last year or the year before? No.
it would probably make teams play more 1 stringers in the games
which would make the exhibition games better
Phil Simms did.......
The Giants hired an excellent and professional GM and HC. Both have good resumes. Can we give them a fucking chance before we keep writing every decision, draft choice, personnel move, etc. off?
Now, we're reading Eli needs more reps...until he gets hurt playing the 3rd quarter of a pre-season game. We're reading that Webb might outplay him and then there is a decision. And on and on.
Eli Manning is the QB of the Giants. Period. Deal with it. This will be the case this year and perhaps next year and possibly even beyond depending on how things go. Barkley is the lead RB and will likely be on the field all 3 downs a lot of the time. Deal with it.
We didn't draft Darnold or Rosen. Neither has played a down in the NFL. So, nobody should really be that upset right now. Let the HC and GM do their jobs.
If Eli had played every single snap last preseason, it wouldn’t have meant squat given what and who he had to throw to for much of the season
Battles to start, for example RT, should be decided before Game 3.

What in the wild world does that have to do with anything posted on this thread?

I guess McAdoo's offense and playcalling was fine then...
most likely what Eli needs is a simplified offense. hand off/look deep/ throw to Barkley in flat.
NO passes over middle, except deep , and NO running (more than 5 yards)
wait, he did except deep!
i think we can skip that one too...
Really? taking the 5 yard run as literal?
Remember the GREAT Philly run.... untouched fumble.

he shouldnt run past 5 yards either. Even if there is no one in front of him!

Dont know why we didnt castrate him on the spot there.
I also remember many over the middle throws, especially to OBJ, that won us a lot of games and socred us a lot of points too.

The Giants were completely unprepared to play offensive football under Mcadoo at the start of seasons.
How many points did the giants score in that 350 passing yard game vs the Saints. You're better then throwing out empty stats, fatman.

Not to mention, 20 points isnt a good point total. It's actually bad in todays NFL.
Is it because of a lack of preseason snaps? I'm not sure but the offense in at least two opening days (last yr dallas, @ detroit) the offense completely was unprepared under mcadoo as both HC and OC
