I thought Eli Manning was fantastic today. The ball was coming out of his hand with good velocity and in a tight spiral. You can talk about his production last season, but much like Dave Gettleman has mentioned many times, I do not see any difference in his arm today when compared to when I watched my first practice in Albany in 2007. His timing, accuracy and arm strength were on display at the start of practice as he hit Sterling Shepard perfectly on a 15-20-yard out. Two other throws that stood out came during during 7-on-7 at the end of the practice. First, Manning hit Hunter Sharp in perfect stride on a deep post, getting the ball over the top on both the cornerback and the deep safety. Two plays later, Cody Latimer went deep on the other side of the field and Manning put it right on the money over his shoulder. After watching Manning throw it like he did today, it is easy to understand why the front office and coaching staff believe he can lead the team to big places with the right talent around him.
Its to the point where Im not sure how much more I can learn from watching Davis Webb in unpadded practices. He has great velocity and, more times than not, throws a nice ball. We knew that already. His footwork and accuracy are improving and always worth watching. The really important stuff that will determine how successful he will be in the pros, however, is something only the coaches can judge. Is he making the right reads? How is he on his progressions? Is he seeing what he is supposed to see and making the right adjustments? I cant make those judgments. Webb is a very smart and diligent player, and theres no doubt he is hard at work on those things with the coaching staff. I cant wait to see more of Webb in game situations with pass rushers coming at him.
Latimer has looked very good in these first two OTAs. He doesnt drop anything and is consistently getting separation on his routes, whether in short, intermediate or deep concepts. He has a chance to earn the third receiver spot on this team and so far, at least to me, he is making the most of it. Those completions, by the way, are coming against starters like Janoris Jenkins and Eli Apple.
Marshall Koehn got his chance to kick field goals today and he was 7 of 7, including kicks from 47, 49 and 53 yards.
The defense had a nice day. They were communicating well in the secondary. Olivier Vernon, Josh Mauro, Romeo Okwara, Jordan Williams, Kareem Martin and B.J. Hill all looked quick off the ball.
In simulated blitz pick up scenarios, it looked like Saquon Barkley was in the right place at the right time. If he continues that, I would expect him to be a fixture on third down. There has been a steady rotation at running back throughout OTAs so far.
The best play of the day in the secondary came from William Gay, who intercepted a Davis Webb pass intended for Roger Lewis after taking a great angle. It was a savvy veteran play.

physical questions with Eli at this point. None of the evidence points to that.
The big question is his psyche after playing behind a poor offensive line. Does he have NFL QB "PTSD" so to speak? And more importantly, is the line improved enough to the point where we will be able to find out. I believe it is.
My biggest concern with Eli isn't physical. My biggest concern is that he seems to stare at the rush as opposed to keeping his eyes down the field. It prevents him from going through his progressions and making the right reads. Hopefully he can adjust.
Holy shit what has happened to this site? Unfortunately, creating an imaginary negative out of what was meant to be a positive seems to be the norm around here. Bunch of damned miserable fs.

Guess you dont understand the concept. If the offense looks very good the defense must be bad. I guess that only applies to other teams we are playing. So if the Giants offense is kicking the crap out of the Eagle D, I guess they are playing good.
Bluescruise said Eli is finished and won't take to coaching!
The big surprise is when we bring Darkwa back right before week 1. This whole Barkley pick is just a smokescreen so Darkwa is totally fresh for the regular season.

Barkley to the Practice Squad?
I bet he was catching all of those one handed passes yesterday to try to make it on the active roster as a WR knowing that Darkwa is coming back to take his spot as the lead rusher! Bluescruise may be on to something here.

Grandma can look good in those its still the same questions weve had for years which Eli will show up on any given game day. How long before we hear the same thing we had great practices but we cant put it together on the field during games.

Eli going deep today at OTAs, hits Latimer and Sharp for long completions! 👍🎯
Why in the world would you feed the troll? I know, its hard to step away some times but he needs to be frozen out.

reports. He was terrible last year and he needs a big preseason.
The confounding thing about Rosas is that he had a great preseason LAST year.
I always hit the ball really well on the driving range too...
