I know we all hate carrying 13 pitchers but

His first

didn't see it, but been waiting for that to happen.

His intensity was a little better then I thought .. Boones gonna be okay.

I thought he did a nice job in his first argument , Girardi was elite at it in his last years here
I don't find Andujar hard to
section125 : 5/22/2018 10:04 pm : link
watch, but he needs to recognize pitches and allow for the zone. He's is still doing ok.

Right now watching Didi is hard. That loopy uppercut swing is killing him.
Hmmm wonder what's up with El Gary??

Leaves the game??

Hope he's okay
Hopefully Sanchez

future Yankee Cole Hammels is looking good tonight. He's easily the best pitcher available at the deadline who won't cost a fortune.
I really want Machado on this team next season
DennyInDenville : 5/22/2018 10:27 pm : link
Andujar has disappointed me big time (to be fair I was higher on him then anyone I know, I compared him to Vlad/Miguel Tejada hybrid at the plate)

He's still young but his habits and tendencies show me Starlin Castro as of now.

Machado over Andujar , or even over Didi.

Machado needs to be a Yankee next year or even this year to complete the super team. Harper , optional. Manny, needed. Let's open the checkbook as planned and get these super rare stud 26 year old FAs and win 5 of 6 championships plus maybe one this year , upping our total to 33/34 atleast ...

Andujar Blast!!! Maybe I just shined some luck on him, back to Vlad now!!!
Young guns!!

Agreed, if no true Ace is available, he's the guy I want as plan B.

Gleyber just looks so great at the plate
DennyInDenville : 5/22/2018 10:32 pm : link
So comfortable

And for a guy who throws ALLLLLLL of his every last bit of weight into every swing, he's incredibly smooth and effecient.

It's really a treat to see.

He's also about 200-205 pounds now (baseball reference and eyes) also, some websites have him listed at 175 still.

He's really thick and hard if you check out his upper arms and chest, also nice thick thighs , guys a specimen and filling out really well.

Wonder what he looks like when he's fully grown in a few more years

yea, mentioned him earlier in the thread as a possible target. he has been pretty good and he would get good run support with the yanks.

he has held the best lineup in baseball to 4 hits and 2 runs through 7 innings...thats pretty damn good

he shouldnt cost to much either and texas wont be in the playoff race so he will be avail.

If no other option is avail as mentioned, he would be a good option....

shit if tanaka, german and gray all continue to struggle we could use two pitchers lol

Also i believe Texas and Cashman have a decent relationship
DennyInDenville : 5/22/2018 10:39 pm : link
Not Padres or Pirates good, but I think they appreciate the Beltran deal.

They will call us first or return our call first for sure when the time comes to talk price .

Yep, they've made some crazy plays. But brings up Torres and the top of the order for the 9th.

The 8 or 9 walks hurt them.

*German seems to be uncomfortable with men on base.Maybe just a bad night? See what happens next time. Extra rest perhaps a problem for all the starters? Nobody but Gray pitched well this time through. Let's see this time through with hopefully no rainouts.
*Didi @ .247 and is starting to look like Willie Mays Hays in spring training. Perhaps 20 pushups for every pop up?? Terrible at bat after the 2 walks to Stanton and Sanchez. Where's Lou Brown when you need him? :-)
*Ditto Austin, who shows why he's really not a big time player. After the Didi pop up by Didi, just hacking at garbage.
*Andujar with a dinger and a couple of nice plays a 3B. Yes Denny, what a disappointment. .285 5HR 17 RBI and playing a good 3B. Definitely needs to walk more, but that will come. The kid is a player. He'll learn.

some props for El Gary behind the plate last night. Got a workout from German. He was so far off the plate and in the dirt so often that it looked like lateral movement drills.

Well he and especially German lolygagged after one and let Chirinos steal a run. Also he didn't stop runners from advancing early on. Listen I'm not killing the guy he has Mike Piazza power, a rifle for a throwing arm and seems to call a pretty good game. The receiving thing is a problem though and he just didn't help a struggling kid out last night by having guys advance like that. It is what it is, other catchers just seem to have better technique with blocking balls in the dirt its just never going to be a strength of his. However he creates a hell of a lot more than say a Lucroy to win a baseball game. You take the ton of good with the little bad...

Yeah he'll never be Munson back there, but last night I think was squarely on German. He had no idea where the ball was going.
