with violations galore doing driving a school bus?

I don't think the other two buses attempted an illegal u-turn. They corrected their missed turn in more sensible, legal ways.
Did they? Not clear from the article. Possible that they did the illegal U-turn but successfully. I'd be surprised if there wasn't just a follow the leader thing going on which would also explain why they all missed the exit in the first place.
How you can entrust all those lives to a 77 YO with multiple violations just eludes me. And that the guy tried a U-turn on i-80 with a school bus full of kids ... I really don't have words for him.
I wonder if he thought he would lose his job if he got them there late? What could motivate anyone to even think about attempting that? Just a horrible act; his actions took lives from loved ones when it was so easily avoidable.
Never mind his age ... how can a school bus company Â
hire someone to drive kids whose license had been suspended 14 times?
Not sure that it make much difference, but I did read that most of those suspensions were due to parking tickets.
I was curious about that ... the stories I read just mentioned the suspensions without any details of the cause... and i think suspensions related to driving offenses versus parking makes a huge difference

That's right, he did.

I hope they get sued for so much money - it puts them out of business.
Even as a child I was taught the old, "so if your friend jumped off a bridge would you follow " lesson.
He should have known better, and as the driver made his own decisions with regards to safety.
