Sean Chandler at home with Giants after growing up homeless

If those sound like long odds, consider Chandler already has survived a childhood in and out of six different homeless shelters to reach the NFL. The family sometimes moved day-to-day, and a week's stay in one place felt long.

"The uncertainty of not knowing where your next meal is going to come from or where you are going to be at the next day," Chandler told NJ Advance Media, "is the hardest part."

will be rooting for him.
Great story thanks for sharing

his character and background makes it easy to root for a young man like this. Hope his football instincts and work ethic are enough to counter his seeming lack of athleticism.
I will never forget bringing my kids home after work

'Daddy! We got a letter on the door" (uhoh)

Or going to the bargain store for cheap blankets and breaking back in to the apartment to get out of the ten degree February wind.

But, as bad as that period was, and, being stuck with their mother, and her having BPD, I cannot imagine them having had to grow up in shelters or having to travel from one hotel shelter unit to another every so often.
There are so many stories

That remind me of how blessed I ve been.

Would be wonderful if he could make this team
He's competing with Adams for the final spot
Jay on the Island : 5/25/2018 9:17 am : link
He does have a decent shot of making the roster or practice squad.
Hopefully he shows enough that if he don’t make it here

Someone picks him up
His nick name is Champ

Because he is a champ. He goes back to his community to give back to those in a similar situation to his upbringing. I hope he makes the team and prospers.
Clearly A+

Character honed on his response to adversity and using the resources available. No accident such young men become leaders.

He may not go further in the NFL, but his strength of character ought to take him far.
wow

great story. his background makes "Rudy" look like a privileged, entitled brat in comparison! hope he makes the team or catches on somewhere - it won't be for lack of effort

So many of us are so blessed. If you are, and you can, try to help others!
He is a perfect example of Nietszche’s famous maxim
