my lovely wife, tonight. Thinking about hitting up a rooftop bar for a cocktail beforehand while the weather is nice, or maybe bar at the art museum.
Going to see a play in the morning with my wife and kids, then smoking some meats in the afternoon before the rain moves in, hopefully. If not tomorrow I'll set up a canopy and do it Sunday.
Taking my son to see Solo on Sunday or Monday.
All in all, I'm really looking forward to this weekend.
reception this Sunday. We eloped in November but we wanted to have a celebration with family and friends in the late spring/early summer. We then head to Williamsburg afterwards for a quick getaway and then we take our "real honeymoon" cruise in November.
Two 36oz 50 day aged porterhouse steaks from Pat LaFrieda. They were having a sale on those steaks, so I thought what the heck. Will be grilling them up on Sunday.
Monday night in Atlanta. Yeah... this is the rainout game from April and there's a 90% chance of rain. I think this is THE one Met debacle we can't blame on Fred Wilpon.
Puts a damper on everything. Was planning to watch the Yanks outdoors at a friend house he has a nice out door patio and we will bbq drink some beers and watch a rare Yankee Home Saturday night game. Tomorrow rain. And Monday rain in the morning I can’t remember the last nice weekend we have had here in New York it’s been months and it seems to rain every Memorial Day weekend wasn’t last year a washout
newly midlife man without kids should do. Go shop some motorcycles!
Fuck yeah man! I was just talking to someone at work who rides a lot. He’s still a kid - 20 somthing with no kids yet. I was saying that I stopped riding b/c of married with children life. But it got me thinking...
The waitress just interrupted my posting to hand me another ice cold beer. 85 degrees, no humidity, not a cloud in sight. Mother Nature has spread her legs for us here on the Jersey Shore.
We're staying at the Fort Magruder. Anybody have any good restaurant recommendations?
Congrats! I live in the 'Burg, AKA The Hometown of Lawrence Taylor.
I'd recommend Berret's Seafood & Taphouse Grill for dinner and drinks. Excellent menu, reasonably priced, and there are two bars (one is kind of big covered porch) which serve a nice mix of craft beers. Leave your car parked there and walk around Merchant's Square area afterward. A favorite of my wife and I.
Brickhouse Tavern is cool, it's usually packed with William & Mary kids but graduation was a couple weeks ago.
For breakfast, I'd say avoid all the tourist-y pancake places on Richmond Road and hit a place just up the road from you called Shorty's Diner. It's a local working class joint and does a good Southern breakfast.
Quote:Thanks RGhost, we'll definitely check some of these spots out. Thanks for the recommendations.

Saturday - Work
Sunday - Ribs & Chicken on the smoker, Burgers & Dogs on the grill
Monday - Repeat of Sunday.
Hope the fucking rain stays away.
If it rains, you can use my yard. We haven't had rain for about 3 months
You guessed it, rain. I'm on my way! lol
We're going to cut down the menu to just burger, and dogs. Also canned Bush's baked beans, as opposed to the real kind, cooked in the pit. Could be worse. Have a great Memorial Day!

Rusty Bull Brewery releasing a new IPA this weekend. The Immortal Lobster Food Truck will be on site dishing out lobster rolls.
I noticed a slab of ribs in our fridge, they are destined for a meeting with our grill.
In between, we'll find time to put a dent in the shrimp population....love dem swimps !!

I am not a fisherman. I just find it boring. Sure I can sit on a boat and drink. But the whole put hook into the water is just boring to me.
I actually love sailing. I don't live near the beach (about 5 hrs away) There is a lake near but that's not good for sailing.
Thanks Britt!

I remember a story about a family of racoon's in your boat is that finally all taken care of?
Thank you for the first laugh of the day! Now eat something greasy with a big glass of sweet iced tea, and go back to sleep, then repeat!
