I’m thinking the first 6 picks in the draft will be

George from CT : 3/18/2024 7:37 am
something like this, Who’s picking who is a different story.

Pick 1 C Williams. Chicago or Washington, something’s brewing as CW cancelled his top 30 visit, could be nothing

Pick 2 J Daniels. Wash or Chicago

Pick 3 D Maye. NE, NYG, or Minn
Who will win the bidding war as it’s been reported the patriots aren’t high on him

Pick 4 MHJ. Arizona
Their number one WR right now is Michael Wilson. He had 38 receptions for 565 yards and 3 Td’s, major upgrade needed

Pick 5 Nabers or Odunze. San Diego
Lost both starters, leaning towards Odunze

Pick 6. Here’s where it starts to get dicey NYG or NE
Nabers for the Giants. NE JJM or possibly Penix
If our offer is comparable to the Vikings, I’m thinking they trade with us as the Broncos and Raiders both will probably look to move up in front of NE at 11

Question is what will it take to move up from 6 to 3? 3 three number 2 picks won’t cut it with Minn in the picture
It’s interesting that the Giants may have too high a pick to trade

If NE wants out they seem to want a bigger payday than the Giants can or should offer for a 3/6 swap. A bit ironic. This is a tough spot for Schoen.

If the Giants want McCarthy, it seems a small trade up to 5 gets it done. Odds are QBs are going 1, 2, 3. If that happens then I think Arizona 100% takes MHJ. Let's say NE takes MHJ at 3. Arizona is more likely to trade down to a QB needy team. So, no matter the order, it appears 3 QBs in the first 4 picks. For LAC it makes the most sense to trade down one spot and nap a top tier WR and an additional pick than to trade back too far and miss on the premium WR.
Nab

Not nap
It figures that we'd wind up in the possible " close but no cigar"

It also makes sense for Arizona (if MHjr goes to NE) only moves down a few spots, they will want to at least grab Nabers or Odunze
I don’t think JJM

Is their first choice, while I do think he’s a better prospect than DJ. He seems to process the field well, he also has pretty good scrambling ability.
However, his long windup and lack of accuracy on deep throws is what’s sets him and DM apart. Besides Maye fits the Josh Allen mold that they’re looking for
I'm really hoping Giants don't take JJM

at 6 or even at all in the 1st Round. I just don't see 1st round talent. I watch every Michigan game. He was never really challenged to carry the offense and I just don't see the ability to be a prolific passer. He can be an excellent game manager, with decent size and decent arm. I'm just not sold on him taking his game to the next level with NYG. If he went to the right situation and sat a year, sure, but we have questions along the OL-line with limited play makers as it stands. Things could change in a year, especially if he red-shirted, but I'd much rather take a chance on Penix in a trade-down or continue to build out the roster and strike for a QB next year.

I see JJM, not as the QB that makes everyone else better around him, but rather a QB that needs everything around him in place in order to succeed.
I don't know what the final compensation will be
JFIB : 3/18/2024 9:51 am : link
But I am confident we will trade up to select JJM and we will pay a hefty price to do it.
San Diego?

Here’s Schoen’s current

problem. Minn may want QB4 so BADLY, they may offer the Chargers at 5 the same package they are reportedly offering NE.
If that’s the case, the Giants are screwed they can’t offer a ridiculous package to move up one spot.
Fortunately, JS is very meticulous and prepared, I suspect he will have an alternate plan of this ends up happening.

Are you a Michigan fan? It seems that the NFL has not figured out a way to successfully project which college QBs will translate to high end NFL QBs. There seems to be a trend toward emphasizing mental processing with the S2 Cognition test that Brock Purdy scored so well on as much as physical attributes. The NFL remains a copycat league. Maybe JJM has scored well on the S2?
Question is the level of despiration in the Vikings
UberAlias : 3/18/2024 10:58 am : link
How much of an overpay are they willing to gamble to get to 4 or 5 for JJM verses resetting their sights on a Penix/Nix?

Imo they are trading a king's ransom to the Patriots for Drake Maye. Harbaugh also has never traded down in rd1 and he likes to take blue chippers that fit his mold, Odunze will be a Charger imo.

Agree 100%, not a fan of McCarthy at all.
