Adoree' Jackson and Aaron Robinson

Pete in VA : 3/18/2024 8:00 am
I've read nothing about any interest in Jackson, from the Giants or any other teams. He's not an all-pro, but he's serviceable. Why no interest? He is far from the biggest reason that the Giants sucked last year.

Will Robinson ever see the field again? Again, if there's been an article about him since the 2023 training camp, I haven't seen it. What's the story?
What the Giants plan to do with the CB position
Dnew15 : 3/18/2024 8:04 am : link
remains a mystery.

I would not recommend rollin in to the season with what they got currently on the roster.
Robinson another (the 5000th) NYG injury story
BillT : 3/18/2024 8:13 am : link
Considered a good prospect, drafted in the 3rd round after a trade up to beat Philly to him. Good enough to be the day 1 starter for Daboll. Injured in the 2nd game of that season. Not heard from since as his recovery has been delayed (heard tendinitis?). Could be gone forever like many before him.
There are still a lot of free agents out there
Giantimistic : 3/18/2024 8:21 am : link
After the first wave, teams may be waiting to see what happens in the draft. Jackson falls in that category.

He will either help us with a comp picking signing elsewhere, or maybe we can get him back on a reasonable deal to provide depth.
He is probably asking for too much $$
ZogZerg : 3/18/2024 8:24 am : link
He will have to reduce his price before a team signs him.
Jackson likely thinks he can get a better deal
bLiTz 2k : 3/18/2024 8:37 am : link
After the draft...maybe closer to camp. Teams in general probably don't want to overspend on him due to his injury history.

Good player, but is guaranteed not to play a full season and is a year older.

I'm sure the Giants had a number for him they won't go past, which I don't blame them for. Probably time to go in another direction.
Eric brought up a good point

Tenn cut AJ when Bowen was there, I doubt he comes back.
I’m hoping we pickup a CB and safety soon in case we move up and have less draft picks
Robinson
JoeyBigBlue : 3/18/2024 8:51 am : link
Hasn’t played football in 2 seasons. He will get a chance because he’s a draft pick, but he won’t make the team.
Jackson
JoeyBigBlue : 3/18/2024 8:52 am : link
Should be a worse case scenario signing. He was bad in coverage, and even worse in run defense last season. He also didn’t show much effort down the stretch of the season.
Jackson sucks
sb from NYT Forum : 3/18/2024 9:08 am : link
It was a shit signing… let it go.
Jackson is another one of the decent players
Reese's Pieces : 3/18/2024 10:54 am : link
Acquired in free agency that the usual suspects want to toss away although we have no one better to replace him. I would rather have Jackson at corner than someone signed off the practice squad. He is proven cover corner, who, if I read Eric correctly, drew only three flags last season, and only one PI called. He is only 28.

He is a decent tackler, better than most of our the guys on the roster. he did miss one grievous tackle late last season when he failed to wrestle the pass catcher out of bounds. But at least Jackson took off chasing him all the way down the sideline. Last year he indicated that he liked New York and wanted to stay.

At a reasonable price it makes sense to keep him. But only at the right price. He may be one of those players who actually plays harder when his team is in contention to win something

What do you mean the “usual suspects.” Adoree was really bad last year. Him still being a free agent should tell you that we wasn’t good last year.
Speaking of Aaron Robinson - Can you think of another prospect
gersh : 3/18/2024 11:38 am : link
Who is considered a possible contributor for so long after he's even been on the field?
I am starting to question whether I just imagined ever seeing him
coming back from a serious knee injury is
Dave on the UWS : 3/18/2024 12:09 pm : link
NOT a given. The last report on him was he had developed tendonitis in the knee. Don't forget, he had more than just an ACL if I remember correctly.

Among the many mistakes DG made, I would not count these 2.
Robinson was looking very promising before this knee injury (on old Met Life turf as well), Jackson was a solid CB for most of his time here, although it looked like he became allergic to tackling last season.

Adoree got cut by the Titans and the Giants gave him a bigger contract...DG made no sense.
Bringing Jackson back
JonC : 3/18/2024 1:19 pm : link
represents little opportunity to improve a bad football team.

It's also quite clear both sides have wanted to move on for a couple of years.
Jackson made plenty of business decisions out there in 2023
nygiantfan : 3/18/2024 1:39 pm : link
and it was clear as day for everybody to see.

Schoen/Daboll would be foolish to give him a pass for that. Jackson is gone for good.
Aaron Robinson
5BowlsSoon : 3/18/2024 2:42 pm : link
Tore his ACL and partially tore his MCL on October of 2022. As we all know, we thought he would return last year after starting the season on the PUP, but didn’t. For some reason nothing has come out regarding his progress or lack of progress in his healing. Could he be back healthy in 2024? Don’t know, but we clearly can use him.
Robinson should be healthy by now and at camp
Rudy5757 : 3/18/2024 3:04 pm : link
No reason to cut him, he’s on a low salary. Maybe he can at the very least provide quality depth who knows. But every time he has been healthy he was in the starter discussion so I would see what he can do in camp.

I’d like Adoree back on the cheap but that’s probably not an option. I’d take a flyer on an older stopgap for a year. Lead the young group.
