Any golf fans catch the final round? World # 1 Scottie Scheffler comes from 5 back to win the Players. Xander Schauffele continues to be the best player to never yet win one of the big 5. Wyndham Clark's putt on 18 goes two thirds down in cup before lipping out in bid to tie Scheffler and go to playoff. Harman a little unlucky on 2nd shot to 18th green when ball doesn't release and the misses the putt. Schaufflee, Clark and Harman all with putts to force a playoff on 18. The Island Green on 17 was a monster all day and remains one of the most entertaining and challenging holes in all of golf (great theatre).
Really great finish to one of the great tournaments.
Clark's Lip-out on 18 - (
New Window )
That was just so wrong. Couldn’t believe it.
Shauffle is hard to figure - great talent but is he really the best to not win a big 5. He has now played in the final pairing 17 times and has 2 wins - that is epically poor. When he absolutely needs to make a critical putt he usually does not make it. Too bad because he is much more likeable than a bunch of the other robots out there
I don't watch a lot of TV.
One of the best events played in a while, quality golf throughout the leader board.
I have never seen anyone as accurate as Scheffler is right now, not Tiger, not Jack.
I don't watch a lot of TV.
I believe his chipping, which was an issue that he seemingly had solved last year, has regressed back to bottom of the field levels. I'm surprised as well as I had him pegged for a big year
I don't watch a lot of TV.
Viktor made drastic changes in his swing prior to The Players working with a new coach to change patterns and movements in his swing.
Duval had serious back issues.
