I know about as much as the next guy, which is nothing. My belief is the Giants want one of the top 3 WR.They will sit at 6 with at least two of top 3 available at 6. They will choose their new WR at that point.
The Giants organisation will need a star player to assist selling tickets to the games in the upcoming season. Since they will more than likely not be drafting one of the top tier QB's in the Draft, they'll need to score big by getting a player like Rome Odunze or Malik Nabers, I have a feeling that MHJ will be the first WR drafted before the Giants.
It will likely be WR at #6, I don't think it's set in stone. Maye might fall to us (unlikely though that is). And Schoen might have his sights set on Odunze, who I think will go at #5 to the Bolts. While MHJ and Nabers might be top-flight game changers (MHJ especially), you never know. The organization might be tired of divas (which most WR's are, 'cept guys like Odunze)... MHJ blowing off the combine (rightfully so) might rub Mara and Schoen the wrong way, and Nabers character issues might also rub the brass the wrong way. And don't look now, but an offensive lineman could still be in the mix for us, unpalatable as that is (myself included). As well a trade down, if Schoen likes Nix or Penix further down the first. Nobody really knows. But yeah, I think odds are it will be Nabers at #6. And while I don't think Schoen would go for JJ there, it still might happen as well.
Not angry at all QB thread. Just like they have no clue what Giants are going to do, neither do I. I just don't see the Giants going QB. Thanks Pauline Walnuts for remembering me. Hope all is well

Speak for yourself. I for one, needed to hear his opinion on it's own separate thread /s

LOL - How many TD's will WR score on an end around ?? OBJ had something new WR won't have...what was that...hmmm...I know- a QB. Thats right - some guy named Eli....lol
Giants want Minnesota to jump them to make sure 1 of MHJ or Nabers make it to 6. Question is do they like pennix? Do they try to beat the broncos to Nix late rd 1 early round 2.
But not for the same reason as the original poster--I think the most likely scenario is that the Giants get jumped by Minnesota and are left at 6 with two wideouts to choose from.
Putting numbers to it, I think it's something like:
Odunze - 35%
McCarthy - 25%
Maye - 15%
Harrison - 10%
Nabers - 5%
Daniels - 5%
Other (via trade-down) - 15%
I'm sure you are an awesome fan "Giants" and I never waste my time
so no idea i am today wasting my time writing this, but perhaps it is because so many posts state with such certainty such things that are completely unknowable...however, you took the cake i guess with basically stating certainty and then saying you have no idea what you are saying ...maybe you can see that it gets a little old for us mere mortals accepting the uncertainty...thx in advance
Then trading down 5-10 slots is the right move
Because after MHJR then Brian Thomas from LSu will be the second best WR of this class
BTJR may be the most underrated player in this draft. Monster.
I am very eager to see what he runs on his pro day.
BW and I are both very high on Brian Thomas. Here's a clip from PFF
Thomas was among college football's best separators for his entire career, and that only improved in his last season. In 2023, Thomas was charted as open on 74 of his 87 targets. He also led college football with 17 receiving touchdowns.
At the NFL combine, he ran a 4.33-second 40-yard dash, which ranks in the 97th percentile among all receivers. His rare blend of size (6-foot-3) and speed will make him a hot commodity during the draft process.
6'3 210. 4.3 40 and is one of the best separators in college. He needs to get more proficient in his route tree and put on some muscle so he can beat press coverage, consistently. He's going to be one of the top WR's in the league. Love the idea of him and Hyatt, taking the tops off defenses.
Although, I don’t know who we will take. A great (expected to be) WR over a reach at QB. I would go WR. Unless something crazy happens and someone falls.??? Then there’s the whole Organization fell in love with this guy thing??
Did I mention I didn’t know?
Poster bias is known, he wants to stick with Jones.
settled.

The only way I see the Giants first round pick not being a WR or QB is with a significant trade down.
TE Powers, OT Alt and Edge Turner are all likely top 10 picks, but I don't see the Giants taking any of them at 6th overall.

I think if only one is available they're taking whoever is left of McCarthy and Maye.
I know drafts aren't usually this chalky, but there are 7 high-end talents at high-end positions and enormous needs in the top 6 for those positions.
I would bet that the top 6 will be 4 QBs and 2 WRs.

You may be right about Thomas. He is a physical freak for sure.
He’s a massive Daniel Jones fan boy. That’s the purpose

GREAT STRATEGY!!
We aren't going to compete for a SB this year for sure but lets hope we have good pieces for a future run.
