NFT: Update on Lindgren

bluesince56 : 3/18/2024 6:31 pm
Ryan Lindgren will be out a few weeks with a lower-body injury, but it's not as bad as initially feared and he will make a full recovery. The Rangers have recalled D Brandon Scanlin.

Connor Mackey was injured at Hartford, and is also out at this time. Thus the move to Scanlin.

1. Instead of telling the fans the exact nature of an injury they choose to only say upper body or lower body. I'm mystified what the purpose of the concealment is. Knee or ankle, just say it.

2. The offside review after a goal. The goal scorer celebrates, the bench celebrates, the fans celebrate and after a ref's replay review that often lasts 5 minutes, they say a player was offside sometimes less than an inch therefore the goal is disallowed. Just awful.
Good thing we traded for Ruhwedal

Not a good week to be playing three of the best teams in the NHL

Without a bunch of D. Carolina could take over first in a week

Of course there is an argument to playing Philly in the first round over Tampa anyway so whatever.

Thrilled to hear they think Lindgren will be back for the postseason.
I'll believe it...

when I see it. I know he's a tough SOB, but I think they're just downplaying it so people think he is back for the start of playoffs. With how bad he looked, I've got to imagine he's out longer than that. Fox missed 4 weeks and finished his shift and walked to locker room on his own. Kaako looked like Lindgren and he was out 7 weeks.

But at least Lindgren's not out for the year and there is hope for a playoff return at some point.

Completely agree, worst rule in all of sports. Even when it helps my team I feel "dirty." If you can't tell if someone is offsides live, then it didn't give them enough of an advantage to affect the play. All it does it take fun goals off the board for no reason. Terrible rule.
