Talk about a horrible signing last offseason. Did he even have one TD catch here?
I'm not in the camp that says "Waller was a good gamble". But Campbell was, he was a cheap, 1-year signing. It didn't work out but it cost us nothing.
What if NYG never spent the money on Campbell and never made the Waller trade? And instead used that money to sign Barkley to a 3 year deal --maybe slightly more money upfront to win him over?
5 million isn't nothing. They could have used that money on a player that actually did one thing right.
Campbell money on its own wasn't that much but coupled with a not so good move and a not so good move there, it adds up and we just lost a star RB over money.
not this one. Once they tagged Barkley he was gone. I said it the day it happened last year.
They possibly could have saved the money from Waller and Campbell and paid Barkley last off-season. To me this doesn't get enough talk. I would have loved this offseason but losing the RB took it down a notch in my view. It's a shame we finally may have fixed the OL but lose Barkley in the process. IN a perfect world we do both.
I may be dead wrong, but I don't think the Giants would have paid Saquon more even if they had $20 million in cap space.
Could be right. I suspect you are right if I had to bet. Seems Schoen wanted to move on sooner than later. If that's the case I am fine with it. I just hope the Giants don't live to regret this one. I get the fan take that says we lost with Bark it's time to move on, I do, believe me, I just fear he's got a 2nd half here that emulates some of the all time greats. I won't shake that until it doesn't happen.
He was never really awesome here save for 2018 and even then we lost. 2022 he was very good, maybe even great, but a so called great RB should be highly productive (great) more often than not even if there are issues on offense.
I just hate that he went to Philly. Seems ripe for misery to NYG fans.
(1) Darren Waller

I guess we should take those training camp reports with a grain of salt.
This. I'll never trust those reports ever again
Further proof that Daboll did not do a good job last camp in getting this team ready for September. I want to love the guy, I cautiously believe in him, but Daboll had a very shitty first half last year. We all kill Jones. Kill Daboll as well. The team was simply not ready to play week 1 through week 5 or 6 or so and the evidence is overpowering. You had stars in camp looking like slugs in September. Units getting overpowered as if they were amateurs. Was not a good look.
Whatever Daboll did last July/August he needs to throw that plan the fuck out.

they also panicked on opening night. They completely got away from running the ball and having a balanced attack down only 6-0 in the 1st quarter
Absolutely useless signing. But what’s even more befuddling than such signings are the results. Fine, sign him based on all-world speed and the hope he can stay healthy for once. But then how does he not do jack effing s*** on a s***ty WR corps??
Don't think I've seen Parris Campbell mentioned at all. Although not productive at all last season and pretty much written off as a bad signing, when your entire offense is totally inept everyone's numbers go down.. like Hodgins, Hyatt, Barkley, DJ,, the list can go on and on. In 2022, Campbell had 63 receptions for over 600 yards (incl a couple of highlight reel catches against the Giants, one with McKinney draped all over him) the first year he wasn't plagued by injury.. and at least last year he stayed healthy. Was inactive the last 5 games after Wan'dale emerged, but still think he can be a factor for a team when a QB has more than 2.2 seconds to throw, and probably won't cost too much because of last year's lack of production

This, the team as mentioned here was not ready for even the first half of the season. That's on Fat boy. Happened to Parcels year one, not year two! If this happens again, I'll be turning off the TV and doing other things cause I am not in the fat boy camp.

As a framchise this year. Book it!!! We have nobody on offense at skill positions. There are college teams with better skill position players now then what Giants have this year..

Amen! And they kept calling plays for him. He looked so slow.

Yup. I think I will skip them this year;)
Agreed.
I think the Giants absolutely did the right thing by letting Barkley go, but folks better be prepared for him having a heck of a year in Philly.
In one of our games with them this year, they're gonna have Campbell take an end-around and throw a TD to Barkley. Go ahead and prepare yourselves.
Not for me. Mine's getting a shiny new "Rolle" nameplate.

funny part is that up until the Thomas false start they looked great on the opening drive against Dallas. the the blocked FG and the roof fell in.

Keep us posted.
However, why was Sterling Shepard even playing?
Apt jersey number.
However, why was Sterling Shepard even playing?
Why was he on the team to begin with?
LMAO
His name wasn't even worth getting right.
They can have Jones....

The Giants did look unbeatable for the first 4 minutes of the season...
Something to look forward to,just like double for parking at Tunacan Stadium.
They still have solid pieces there, but I'm interested in seeing how they replace an All Pro like Kelce.
