The Pro Day circuit is in full effect. On Thursday, that was new Giants offensive line coach Carmen Bricillo (top left) watching Notre Dame’s Joe Alt.

J.J. McCarthy takes the pre-draft stage at Michigan’s Pro Day today. I’m not expecting #NYGiants GM Joe Schoen to be in attendance in Ann Arbor, barring a last minute change, but they should be well represented regardless.
Giants have had McCarthy and Drake Maye in for Top 30 visits. Schoen was at Caleb Williams’ Pro Day on Wednesday.
They’ve done extensive homework on all the QBs, either at Senior Bowl or Combine with more to come.

#NYGiants assistant GM Brandon Brown and QB coach/pass game coordinator Shea Tierney among those expected in Ann Arbor today. Another phase of evaluation
Still think we are being a little too dismissive about Alt at 6
I mean, who knows what all this means, but sending their offensive line coach doesn't exactly move the needle as far as what direction I think they will go in, which is either WR or QB barring a trade down.
RE: I have a strong feeling that the plan for Schoen
I do not see Schoen giving up the farm for JJ. If Minnesota wants JJ and can get him at 4 then that will push MHJ or Nabers to NYG.
I think the back up plan is Nix or Penix with some kind of trade scenario.
I have no insider information at all but I do wonder if Schoen and Daboll are privately working out another QB (Maye) while the entire NFL is in Michigan. Private workouts are rarely reported (assuming because they want to keep it secretive) and Schoen talked about getting these guys into private workouts and meetings to get inside their head. I still think the trade up to 3 is in the works and JJ is the fall back like you said.

Giants would trade into 4 and take McCarthy.
Maybe I guess. I have to believe that JS wants to invest in a new young QB. So maye he has hand shake deals in place with both NE and AZ, trade to 3 for Maye or trade to 4 for JJM.
Eric et al: Just a couple of quick notes. My understanding is that Minnesota is holding a private workout with Mccarthy next week which may explain the GM absence today.
And who knows what it means but the Giants also had a positional coach at the Houston Christian pro day yesterday to check out OLB/DE Jalyx Hunt. He's more a third-day developmental type guy who is very raw, but is a really freakish physical talent.
The advantage he has over Minn. is pick 6 (as opposed to pick 11). there are 3 blue chip receivers. Both Ariz and LAC desperately need a #1 receiver (as we do). They are MUCH more likely to trade down with us for this reason. Schoen knows this I would think.

Maye had a private visit with the Giants last week, according to reports. I highly doubt they would (or could?) use a 2nd one of their 30 visits to work him out again.
The League Meetings, which are attended by Owners, GMs and Coaches, begin on Sunday. Schoen and Daboll (and some of the Vikings contingent) not being at the Pro Day could also simply be them wanting to spend time with their families before traveling to League Meetings tomorrow.
Also, Tierney was the coach who watched McCarthy the closest at the combine so he would be the person in the best position to see and report back on if McCarthy did anything at the pro day different from the combine to the point it might change the Giants' view on him.

That's correct. Teams can only use (1) 3O visit per prospect. But, they are allowed to privately work out players at their college or away from the teams facility as well.
Schoen talked about that this year at the combine when the Bills were scouting Josh Allen and they got news of the Jets trade up to 3 while they were privately working Allen out in Wyoming.

Really? Come on. The majority of FA was bringing in a bunch of OL. There is no way in hell Schoen is taking an OT at 6.
Yeah, I seriously doubt it. We've used enough high picks on OL the last few yrs. Let Bricillo develop them. And I'm glad we've brought in some vet FAs (was hoping they would).
Too soon to give up on Neal and too many holes to draft more OL high.

I would bet you a good amount of money that they don’t take Alt at 6
Two top ten picks a high 2nd rd and a high 3rd rd pick just isn't enough. Thats why we have an awesome OL .
Not on that list? Vikings GM Kwesi Adofo-Mensah and head coach Kevin O’Connell.

Why Hmmmm? Schoen and Daboll aren’t there either. Means nothing. They’ve already met with McCarthy and have other reps there today

I'm in on that bet. No way the Giants take OL at 6.

Good take. Except for the trade up to #3. #4 or #5 might be possible, since both are seemingly 'open for business'. But I still doubt we'll trade up.
