for a lot of the same reasons as JJM, I think Roman Wilson is probably being underrated by observers because of the stodgy offense he played in and lack of eye popping stats, but simultaneously appreciated by some coaches for the little things it forced him to do more of (blocking, more pro style route concepts, played both slot and outside, only dropped 1 ball on the year, etc).
today at his pro day he supposedly lit up the agility testing after posting a 4.39 at the combine. he is a former state champ 100m track guy with times comparable to hyatt but also a history participating in a wider variety of events.

Some NFL teams are going to address other position needs in Round 1 and then cross their fingers
@UMichFootball
WR Roman Wilson is there for them on Day 2.
Wherever he ends up,

if the nyg dont end up with a WR in round 1, given their track record of selecting elite movers on day 2 its not hard to envision them being 1 of the teams crossing their fingers hoping for him on day 2. between him, jjm, jenkins, sainristill, corum i'd almost be surprised if the nyg dont end up with at least 1 UM player in the first couple days. harbough really had a loaded squad.
and in honor of klaatu's appearance today i created a custom pro day RAS. his short shuttle was reportedly between 3.99-4.01 so i split the difference. elite mover. if you put him on the field with hyatt, robinson, and slayton that is a lot of speed.
i find it a lot harder to project small school guys than big school. rashee rice and christian watsons are obviously out there, but for me as a novice it's a lot easier to project when you can see what they will look like in pros if they've gone against bama/uga/etc.
I wouldn’t be mad.
He wasn't a slot receiver at Michigan. Plus, he's really fast.

Why would we draft another slot receiver? Doesn’t make much sense to me.

I don’t see him playing outside in the NFL at all. He’s a vertical home run hitter. We just drafted that in Hyatt and already have a solid slot receiver. This team needs a true X WR. He ain’t it.
diggs has played about 33% of his snaps from the slot in BUF.
this system seems to prefer versatile receivers who can play both, and prioritize movement > size.
Let me add one more: Tez Walker

This isn’t Buffalo and they’ve won exactly nothing with that model either. I can’t see spending a 2nd on a WR that the Giants already have. There are going to be several options at WR for them in the 2nd that should have similar or better grades than Wilson but will be able to play outside. Just don’t see it.
