What about AFTER the first round?

Tucker38 : 3/23/2024 3:30 pm
90% of the draft discussion for the Giants , centers on Round One.
While important, one round does not make a draft. My prediction is they stay put
at pick six ,and take Rome Odunze.

So now what? My priorities would be a DT to pair with Dexter Lawrence , a corner
Unless we pick up a vet free agent, a Running Back, a Safety and around round 4 or 5 a TE.

As for QB my crystal ball says , round 3.

So what are your ideas and priorities after round one, assuming the Giants let the draft “come to them “and pick one of the top three Receivers
I heard we were trading all our picks

To move up so I hope we get some great undrafted rookies.

are more whispers (not just from GoDeep13) that Jones' injury situation is worse than advertised.

So everything depends on his status.
Best value at WR, CB, DT, Edge, S

There should be some good DT prospects available in the 2nd and 3rd; the WR prospects are deep.

Edge and CB are usually front-loaded but sometimes you find a late-round gem. In this draft I'd expect good value at Safety in the 3rd and onward.
I would also go WR in Rd 1 and then in

round 2 and 3 O-Line and CB. Those three plus QB are the strengths of the first three rounds. If the top three QBs are gone by 6 as they should be this is what I would do.

third round QBs pan out? Don't get caught up with the outliers. The guys like Brock Purdy in the 7th round is like winning the lottery.

Typically in the 3rd round you get a Davis Webb or Kyle Lauletta.
If they trade back and pick up another 1st round pick

More of their holes could be filled. I know it would mean avoiding the chance to get any of the top QB choices, they could still get players they desperately need. I want the Giants to have a great Defence again, as well as a better Offensive Line. I wouldn't mind getting a QB like Rattler in the 2nd round if he's still available.
I might be dead wrong, but I'd love to see Schoen own the draft this year.

Not enough picks to probably own the draft this year.
Being that they seemingly upgraded the offensive line,

I'd like to see a running back taken on day 2. Trey Benson or Blake Corum would create a different offense that would rely more on the running game given the state of the QB situation.
Would love a WR

Like Legette, Wilson or the RAC God Corley. Pearsall later on or I could really see Daboll loving Thrash.

Cooper Beebe to solidify OG.

Jenkins at DT. Kneeland at edge. There's some good corners like Tampa, Rakestraw, James. Sainristil later on I really like.

The safeties don't excite me on day 2 but day 3 theres a couple like the Washington State kid. Would also like a RB like Wright or Corum. Guerendo as a long shot late.

A tight end would be good. Spann-Ford as a late rounder I like.
Tanner McLachlan

Also has good athleticism for a late round TE

In the 3rd-4th. He’s going to be a starter for 10 years
I would like to draft a young new young nucleus
Chris684 : 3/23/2024 5:29 pm : link
QB at 6 and then RB/WR or the other way around depending on how the board falls.

Something like McCarthy-Benson-Leggette or McCarthy-Franklin-Corum.

Then day 3 I’m focused on defense. Particularly the secondary and D-line.

We did enough IMO for OL and Edge via FA/trades.
Anything after day 2 is a crapshoot.
Pepe LePugh : 3/23/2024 5:42 pm : link
This year’s shallow draft especially so. QB is the priority. If it can be done at all, it will be at the top of the draft. After that the goal is WR1. Not a body to fill out the depth chart, but someone to draw the attention of opposing defenses. If you can accomplish that, it’s simply a case of BPA and hope to get lucky enough to add a useful piece for the defense. I doubt we see RB, OL, or LB unless a clear bargain slips to us.
Really hard to project pick 47
Rudy5757 : 3/23/2024 7:06 pm : link
If they go QB in round 1 it almost has to be a WR in round 2 based on value/need.

If they go WR round 1 I would say its more wide open but I think cornerback is a good place to look. Its supposed to drop off by the 3rd round.

I would say we are probably not going OL in the draft with all of the FAs we signed uless there is a real big gap in talent.

RB around 3 or 4. RB is a big need but not a lot of high end backs.

A safety somewhere in there.

If you look at the FA visits its been CB mostly that they havent filled so that will be a high priority in 2nd or 3rd.

The one thing none of us know is the Jones injury situation. Is he physically done? I think the Giants would have worked harder to get a FA in here if Jones was done. Lock doesnt move the needle. With 3 QB needy teams in the top 3 it would have been hard move to get one.

I assume this means you've heard from others about his injury situation

That would suck but , it has to be considered

I hear you Gman but after the top 4 QB’s there is a break in talent , then comes Penix and Nix who may both be gone by our round two pick. After that Rattler Pratt, Milton .

Remember this the QB’s in our division were a round 2 a round 4 and a round 5 ( besides DJ)

I agree. I was impressed with a few of the potential later round TE’s running in the 4.6 4.7 range, with solid receiving skills. We have our blocking Tight Ends which we didn’t have last year (due to Tommy Sweeny’s medical problem,) leaving Bellinger to block ( he can actually run patterns if given a chance)
