Ahead of what Robert Kraft has dubbed the "most anticipated" draft of his tenure as owner of the Patriots, director of scouting Eliot Wolf and head coach Jerod Mayo hold the highest draft selection (No. 3 overall) since 1993.
According to Mayo, New England has their sights set on taking a quarterback:
"It's the priority right now," the new head coach told NFL Network's Steve Wyche at the Annual League Meeting. "But with that being said, you have to really be in love with the guy to take him at No. 3. So really all the options are still open for us."

What I am not confident in yet is that the giants can adequately scout and/or have a team vision that they are building towards. Time will tell.
NE also doesn't know when they'll be in a position to again draft a QB without having to trade up. Our #1 next year could be the 15th pick. Even if our #1 and their #1 are both in the top 10, that still might not be enough for them to move up to get a QB. They might not even be able to find a trade partner.
If we did trade with NE, I'd rather trade players than picks. Maybe Neal, Ojulari, and our #1 next year.
Well then maybe Schoen does have a tentative deal in place with NE if that's the case.
That's the best move for them imo. They will likely get pick 6, 47 a 2025 1st and some change from us and I still believe what I've heard regarding them liking Nix but they will have the option of 2 blue chip receivers a blue chip tackle or Nix along with pick 47, a future 1st and a 3rd or so.

I wouldn't be surprised if the reports are true about us wanting JJM and if we trade up to 3 its for him. I'm with Randy Mueller and Chris Simms on this one, JJM is a better prospect than Maye.

It was from threads a while back, one was from a poster that said he has a friend with close ties to the Patriots and I believe he SaiD Nix was in their top 3 QBs. He doesn't post a lot here, but he's been on the board a long time. I don't remember his name. This was 2-3 months ago I believe. I'll try to find the post.

Other than some random posts here then which you saw months ago, it's not mentioned anywhere else that I can find. The odds if I had to guess are probably 1% that it being true. Maye and McCarthy they "might" have equally rated, but Nix? Highly doubtful.

I believe what you're talking about is a post I made a while back. But how you're remembering it is inaccurate.
I have a friend who works for an NFL team (Certainly not the Pats. In fact it's not even an AFC team) and he had heard that a team picking in the top 5 had Bo Nix as their 3rd rated QB. Idk if my buddy knows what team it is, but I wasn't told a team.

Yeah, definitely not at 3. Perhaps after trade down. They could get pick 6, 47 2025 1st and 3rd from us then take Nix or maybe with some luck get Nix after trading with Vikings for picks 11, 23 2025 1st and 3rd.

Chris Simms is better than any pundit out there for draft QB analysis, he has Nix and JJM in his franchise qb tier with Maye as his 6th rated QB. I wouldn't be so sure. Nix is going between 6-12 imo.
