this off-season.
The mantra was quoted by everyone in the organization for the first two years, but I haven't heard it once this off season. It was nowhere to be heard at the year-end press conference, nor did Schoen, Daboll, or Mara bring it up at the Owners' meetings.
I think it's more a matter of curiosity than some sort of significant philosophical shift, but I do think they've deliberately moved away using that messaging.
Maybe the Giants brass figured that line creates a credibility problem for them after the 2023 season? The offensive line was rotating in and out of the training room, they acquired a tight end so beat up he's ready to hang up the cleats, and their current starting quarterback can't pass a physical...
I'd probably have a hard time saying "smart, tough, dependable" with a straight face to the media if I was Schoen.
'Fat, drunk, and stupid' seems more our speed.
Op, I think you’ve raised a really good point. In hindsight, a tag line like that seems like something conjured up by an immature head coach who everyone wants to hitch the wagon to. I like Daboll, but maybe this is a sign of maturation by the people in charge.
"Nobody wants to win more than us!"
Seriously, where do people come up with this stuff?
Expectation is we'll find a way to keep Saquon
Expectation is Daniel is our starting quarterback
I knew one of the free agents had done it - thanks.
Just win in October...
