Some former Giants contract details:

• OL Ben Bredeson with the Bucs: 1 year, $3M with $1.75M guaranteed. I'll leave it to
@nickkorte
to break down the comp pick implications of that contract.

Ben Bredeson may have made enough to qualify as a compensatory free agent--but he'll likely need to become a starter in order to do so.

If he does, that's big for the Giants, who could get a 4th round 2025 comp pick for Xavier McKinney going to GB.

not positive why Korte is being so cagey, all comp picks move around over the season based on things that arent known today (performance, injury, cuts, etc) but for the time being NYG project to get 1 if Bredeson plays anywhere close to as much as he did last year.

this mckinney 4th will likely upgrade to a 3rd based on snaps played if he doesn't get hurt.

now we hope adoree jackson gets a bigger contract than bredeson to get a 2nd pick on the board and hopefully lock in at least a 4th.

Performance, as noted above, is the other part of the equation. What qualifies Bredeson as a starter exactly though? The number of snaps he takes?

snap %. the higher the snap% the better.

bredeson was 92% last year, mckinney was 100%. we need a repeat of that.
Ugh is it that time of year again?!

Sneaks up so fast. I’m frying a turkey an inviting the in-laws over. Always a lovely occasion.
Don't count on it

OTC (@nickkorte) has already signaled that the cutoff for what contracts count for purposes of the formula is hard to predict, and that the Giants could get screwed.
