thanks for making life miserable for all die hard football fans, especially the fan of the teams playing on that xmas Wednesday.
Really appreciate there NFL. Thanks. Hey, can you take a shitty idea and make it even worse by putting the game on during XMAS morning? That would be even WORSE for NFL fans. I can't wait to argue with the wife on XMAS morning about football. Really appreciate yet another big fat fuck you from the NFL. Just make that money while ruining xmas.

It’s a choice to watch. I’m sure diehard fans will find a way. Love sports on holidays. Christmas afternoons used to be a dead zone for sports and movie theaters would clean up. Glad the NBA and NFL have tried to occupy that space.
I was on vacation, drowning my misery in Chinese food in our hotel suite, then a second later on the play to Slayton I was jumping up and down with food flying everywhere.
It's great for those of us that don't celebrate. For those that do, that's a bummer, I did not like altering my Thanksgiving a couple years ago for the game.
NBA is probably like, ‘Seriously? This was OUR day.’
Yeah. I never really cared to watch the NBA until that day. Guess we'll be watching the NFL now. I wonder: how severely will the NBA's relationship with the NFL be affected resultantly?
I believe that the BYE weeks are usually over by week 14 and the Christmas holiday usually hits in week 16.
But if they're going to play a game on a Wednesday this year, I wonder if they'll give the teams playing in that game a BYE the week before.
There were 3 games last Christmas, so that would mean a late-season BYE for 6 teams.
Likely the best the NFL will do for the Christmas day teams will be to have their previous games take place on a Saturday. Then it would be the same number of prep days as a Sunday/Thursday sequence.

It's a choice many die hards would rather not have to make especially when its your team playing.

Yeah I don't get why it's a big deal. Unless your family is doing something that doesn't involve a TV, it'll be on wherever you are anyway.
Now, for the nutcases who have to sit in a padded room to watch every second of the game, I guess it'll be a problem.
Most likely, the teams playing will be on Thursday/Saturday before
We are banning tackling but having really short week
You'd imagine they'd have to play Thursday the week before of coming off a bye
I suspect they will both have the bye the week before, which, if you can get to the bye, that wouldn't be bad, two weeks n a row with extra time a week before the playoffs. But the byes would be in week 15? Has the NFL ever done that?
NBA is probably like, ‘Seriously? This was OUR day.’
I don't think this is a smart move by the NFL, but they regularly steal real estate from other sports. Here is another example, the NBA lost all relevance now for Christmas Day.
I wonder how the old poster JoeMP2003 felt about this. He must have been livid. He was always touting the NBA's ratings, but the NFL wouldn't have done this without the recent dominating head to head matchups with the NBA.

Plus, playing in a Wednesday?
I have no issues with this, Christmas has a lull in the schedule from 10am - 4pm, this will help the time go by.
I can already see a Giants/Eagles Christmas day matchup
Depending on how the structure it- week before play on Thursday or Saturday and then the following Wednesday wouldn't be too bad.

The Cowboys weren't playing Christmas day last year. So who knows.

The irony is the NFL got pissy at college football for having the playoff on an NFL Saturday

If its the last game from the week before they play again Sun on 3 days rest, same as Sun/Thurs.
If its the first game the teams would all have to play Saturday instead of Sunday. I would imagine more games on the 21st then the normal 2/3

NFL could theoretically do a slate of Wednesday-Thursday-Friday-Saturday-Sunday-Monday during Christmas Week this year.

The NFL will have all the ey balls that day.
The NFL will save Dallas for another spot to generate ratings.
I think week 14 has been the latest.
