Did what we were supposed to and what good teams do last night. Great to have Mitch back and really fun watching the growth of McBride. Precious with a sick dunk too! Really love this team!
With loses by by Cleveland and the Magic, it was a beautiful night of basketball.
Now let the Pelicans beat the Bucks tonight.
I liked the Burks a d BB trade but after seeing them this year, I don't like it. They provide depth and BB's shot looked better last night but they are not anything other than depth to me. McBride was the unforeseen consequence of the trade that has been such a homerun. He was the move this team needed to make but, luckily, he was already on the roster.
Mitch looked like a more aggressive offensive player. Putting the ball on the floor. Like it.
Og, Hart and DDV are so good at filling the lane to help on the roller then getting out to shooters, that it frees up the centers to blitz the ball handler and just makes their defense suffocating

Pretty much
Getting past Boston will sure be tough, but they have the horses to at least make us feel like we have a chance.

I think right now we can beat anyone in the east but Boston. With OG and Randle we can definitely beat them.
Really can't wait to see this team at full strength.
He has completely changed the culture of a losing organization which as we know is not easy. He's not alone in doing it, but he's been a major factor.
I really hope OG and Randle can get some regular season minutes under the belt before the playoffs. It should be a fun spring.
👍
Assuming OG and Randle can come back, their injuries could be a blessing in disguise. Look at the growth of guys like DD, Duece and Precious in their absence. This is an excellent roster with good coaching and a positive culture.
Agree with those on McBride. He has really come a long way this year. When he slides back to the bench, the 2nd unit is even stronger.
To me, perhaps the biggest factor is Hart. Last year, he was a nice player whose hustle outweighed his overall output. This year, with the increased time, he has been a major contributor at both ends. When all are healthy, they have a few guys who are capable of popping off a triple double any night, and he is one.
And DiVincenzo? What a boost over Fournier and anyone else they had starting at the 2/3 last year. He has really come on the last couple of weeks too.
Say what you want about Thibs, but this current team really seems to buy into his style. They play hard at both ends.
Divo and Hartenstein being bumped up to the starters has helped tremendously.

That is still missing two of their best players.

Randle will give a boost but they cannot beat Boston without OG.
Grimes, RJ, IQ and Toppin all struggled against Miami in the playoffs - that was a winnable series if those guys showed up the way they did in the regular season. I think that planted the seeds for the three trades that shipped them all out (and IQ's contract stalemate). I'm glad the front office has shown that kind of initiative.
Weird ... Brunson/Hartenstein, same day, make them tied for third-longest tenured Knicks. That's wild to me.
Six players who could be in the playoff rotation (took liberties with Burkes) have been aboard for about a year and in some cases a lot less).
Points up just how hard the front office went to put together this crew that we're all so excited about.

Bojan Bogdanovic (February 8, 2024)

And Mitch just looked huge and in shape, as several reporters commented. As good as Hartenstein has been, being able to mix up with the True Giant is a big deal. The best center pair in the league? Perhaps.
Just how many of these, it can't happen incidents do you have to have before you start changing your ways.

Said he was trying to take a pay cut to go back with the Clips and wasn't considering going out to a different team but the Clips wanted Wall.

I like the idea that they think iHart is going to get paid and stay with the Knicks.

Bojan struggling the way he was just didn't compute. He's been amongst the best shooters in the league throughout his career. He was due for some positive regression. Glad it appears to be here
Assuming OG and Randle can come back, our starters are IHart, Randle, OG, DDV and Brunson, and our four off the bench (assuming Thibs plays 9, but he usually does) are Mitch, Precious, Hart and Deuce. That's a pretty strong 9. Especially if OG and Randle are close to 100%, I feel like that team can compete with anyone.

That is VERY good to hear, thanks for sharing.
Donte/OG/Bojan bang 3s from the corner. don't need a dribble
Hart does all the dirty work
ball constantly moving. maybe the best D in the NBA.
no Randle! stands at the key wanting the ball. never cuts and plays ISO
they can compete for it all

You realize they were 12-2 with Randle, OG and Brunson Funny you never post whrn Randle plays well
I agree, i do think he is moved before his next contract, unless they win a championshil
I think its a good sign OG is on the road trip means he is not far off, maybe he gets upgraded tomorrow like Mitch did but hooefully back Sunday for OKC

Randle was fifth among power forwards in assists last year. This season, he was averaging 5 assists per game pre-injury.
Kobe Bryant's career average is 4.7.

Randle was playing a lot better team ball this season before he got hurt. With Brunson plus several other guys capable of hitting open shots, he's let go of trying to do all the scoring a lot more

also Bojan really strikes me as the prototypical "compiler on a bad team". It's why scoring numbers should be taken with a grain of salt sometimes.
👍
Against the Raptors, Bojan did what he was brought here to do. He scored 18 pts (4/5 from 3) and was +16, in 16 min off the bench. I wouldn't complain if he did something close to that somewhat consistently.
He'll probably get limited playing time in the playoffs, if OG and JR are back and healthy.

I mean he's played over 50 career postseason games and done well. In his last 20 playoff games he's averaging 18 on 34 minutes.
As a bench veteran he's ideal.

When he plays the ball movement stops. Getting rid of RJ and IQ and getting OG was an epic trade. They were ball hogs too. Good players but stopped the flow.

Julius has talked about how he “draws a lot of attention” which allows him to dish it to an open man - he’s been a terrific component to this team’s offense. He’ll routinely grab 10 rebounds a game, too. I can’t wait to see him back on the court.
This shooting is an anomoly, they arent going to stay this hot
