When does Kelce's retirement hit Eagles' cap?

On Spotrac and OTC Kelce is listed as a active player with a $10m 2024 cap hit. He has $16m 2025 void year cap hit. Does this accelerate into 2024? Why the wait? Because he hasn't filed official retirement papers? Will this be treated as a post June 1 retirement/cap h

With decreasing void years through 2028. I don't believe it comes forward but they can work his salary as a June 1 cut. Either way it will hurt the eagles going for years to come.

They can, it is what the Cowboys did with Romo. I think they just have to call it a release and then later designate it a retirement or something along those lines.

retirement paperwork hasn't been filed with the league office yet? I can see where the Eagle would delay filing it until later in the pre-season if there are negative salary cap implication.

Kelce will file his retirement after June 1, which affords the Eagles the same accounting privileges as a June 1 cut.

He'll have a cap charge of ~8.6M on the 2024 cap, and $7.2M in 2025.

The nominal cap savings they save on 2024 will not be freed up until he files.

of $1.5 Mil but I believe his cap number next season would be about $18 Mil going by over the cap numbers.

His official contract voids on Feb 18 2025 so technically he will retire before his contract voids.

I wonder if there is something else shady going on behind the scenes. I wonder if they will try to recover some of his signing bonus to get cap relief and then hire him to some team job.
