No Schoen or Daboll at Maye's workout today

sometime ago the Giants were very high on Maye.

Maye in Rd 1 and Penix in Rd 2.

The #Giants have a presence here at UNC today but Brian Daboll went to UW to see Michael Penix. Sources say the team will work out and meet with Drake Maye in the coming days.

A bit of a curveball from Giants with Daboll heading to Seattle for UW. Private workout with Drake Maye is on the docket.

I heard Eli has been working with and talking to Maye. Between Eli and the tape, I am sure they can get the needed information.

So #NYGiants crew headed by Brian Daboll and Joe Schoen that was in Baton Rouge yesterday flew to Washington today rather than the shorter trek to Chapel Hill.

QB Michael Penix will throw. UW also has Rome Odunze - who won’t work out today - WR Ja’Lynn Polk and Jalen McMillan there too.

Giants will see Drake Maye again in private workout. I knew they were going to circle back with Maye, but I assumed it would first be at Pro Day.

This is probably best way to maximize Pro Days, visits and private workouts.

That’s not what this is. They’re going to have a private workout with Maye and he’s already visited the Giants’ facility.

I think we have Maye then JJM as our QB targets.

Of course, they are interested in Maye. He's high on their wish list. But if they take WR at #6, they need to know where they would be willing to take Penix if they want him as a secondary option at QB.

I change my mind all the time. But as of this second I believe you may be right. Please one of them fall to us.

if the price to grab either Maye or McCarthy is too high, going to plan B (Penix) is a smart idea. Say what you want about Schoen, he always seems prepared for all eventualities.

I’m told Ryan Cowden, executive advisor to #NYGiants GM Joe Schoen, is among those in Chapel Hill to watch Drake Maye at UNC Pro Day, per sources.

Lots of players at Washington to be looked at. Really only one from UNC and I imagine they don’t think he’s going to be available at 6 unless they trade up.

are using who they send to these days as misdirection to prevent people from thinking they've keyed in on anyone. If so, it's smart strategy.

Dez Walker is there also, but Washington definitely has more talent including Rome Odunze and a lot of OL.

Yet we had a big contingent show up at both of those Pro Days. Maye & JJ are the two QBs it looks like we could realistically have a shot at and we barely send anybody to their Pro Days. I find that very odd.

I believe that had a large contingent at Caleb's Pro Day as well.

And they may have intel that he will be gone before they pick.

as it stands today. Jones is the starter. But that really means nothing.

The flipside is, Schoen and Daboll have said they like to spend as much time as possible around the guys they like to see them in different situations and talk to as many people as they can.

Maye has already been to the Meadowlands to visit the Giants. And the Giants are going to hold a private workout for Maye.

There is massive interest here.

Lock will start the season most likely imo

with Jones as our #1 QB for the foreseeable future. But they recognize that: (a) he might not be ready to start the season, and (b) one routine play could end his career because of his gimpy knee and fragile neck.

Are you okay? Bredan rice, Malik Nabers it’s not just about the QBs. It’s an extra chance to meet with any prospects from those teams. They have done their homework on all qbs. Seeing them throw in shorts in person doesn’t mean much to them. It’s about the interview process and meeting the different potential draft picks. It amazes me how many fans have followed the draft and still don’t get how it works
