& I might be in the minority, but I still think BB can coach. My problems with Bill are these: 1) he's lost his fastball with evaluating talent/want him nowhere the job of GM & 2) he seems-@ this point in his life-where he wants to coach with guys he likes, ala Patricia, Judge, & his sons.
I've gone violently back on the 'Ship has sailed' argument with BB/NYG...hiring Bill would be a classic Mara move. He has ties to the organization & its clear BB loves the Giants, which John probably eats up. I could definitely see Mara pushing for this. & again, I don't think BB is a bad HC. I just don't want him as GM or hiring his buddies/sons as coaches. I think Mac Jones career was forever altered when he had Patricia/Judge running the Pats '22 offense.
The other thing with Bill is that he's old AF. I think he's 72 next month?

Yeah, let's get a young up and comer- like anyone of the 30 something coaches who have crashed and burned and been immediately forgotten. Andy Reid and Bruce Ariens would also like a word while holding their Lombardis.
You morons and your ageism. If Belichick is healthy and wanted the job, you have to consider it.

.
If he didn't want so much control, he might have got the Falcons job. Apparently the owner liked him, the front office people not so much. Secondly, coming to a team like
the Giants is a long term rebuild, that's where the 'ageism' happens to come in. Also, I read earlier on here, that someone thinks that John Mara might possibly get rid of a
family member to appease BB, that's not going to happen.
Morons, really? I am most likely in your age category too, since I have been following this goofy at times organization
since the early 60's. Yes, let's hire BB, and have him coach until Marv Levy's age with the Bills, when he finally retired. Just to be clear, Andy Reid didn't win anything until he had Mahommes. He was with Philly for many years, went to one SB, and got beat. He's a good coach, with a great QB.
BB had Brady, so there you go.

It’s not ageism to pay attention to the actuarial tables . And there have been very few NFL coaches who have succeeded at 72 years of age. This has been an era where quite a few 30 somethings HCs have experienced at least some measure of success .
When Parcells took the hiatus because of the angioplasty, coupled with his contempt for George Young, BB should have been selected the new HC. That was 33 years ago, man. It’s over .
.... the young pup will howl with Huskies of Washington and then fulfill his destiny of the chosen as the rightful Defensive Coordinator of the New York Football Giants.

I'd go with Vrabel too.
The other thing with Bill is that he's old AF. I think he's 72 next month?
Not going to happen
But the bigger issue is if the Giants are looking to replace Daboll, they will need someone like BB to chase the Maras out of the front office.
Vrabel would be good.
It makes less than zero sense.

That would be the one positive in hiring BB. If Mara said he liked a player, BB would cut him just to make a point.
I've been saying this exact thing since he became available.
Exactly, let's just move on already.
He's 72 years old...
