Alex Ramirez hitting the way he has so far is a great development. He's basically the only position prospect in the upper minors doing well so far. Parada with scary bad numbers.
could be Alcantara, Perez, and Luzardo. Just further cements my belief on building a team. Premium picks for position players. Pitching a numbers game.

There you go good find! So yeah hardly means anything at a level we'll care about haha.
I'm in central Jersey so I got lucky when the Yanks moved their AA fro Trenton to Somerset as it's easier for me to go watch games there.
▪️Kodai Senga (shoulder capsule strain) threw an up-down bullpen yesterday and is scheduled to face hitters for the first time on Monday.
▪️Tylor Megill (shoulder strain) is due to begin a minor league rehab assignment Saturday with two innings at Brooklyn.
I don't wanna see Megill back with the big team again this season unless absolutely necessary. Butto has earned his spot in the rotation. Are they sending Megill back to Syracuse after his rehab assignment in anyone's opinion?

did you see the TJ thread on Tong yesterday? it may have been in someones replies bc im having trouble finding but basically said he thinks wong is on track to be a top 100 prospect this year.
Did Scott really give up another first inning hr ?
It’s almost unbelievable at this point. Guy is untouchable in every other inning.
Nice seeing Tidewell dominate as well.
If going into season you said system would look great with pitching but horrible with hitting you would think they were insane. Yet that is where we are. Hopefully some of these guys, at least the ones not hurt, can turn it around. These injuries though are really going to hurt Gilbert and Williams from a timing standpoint.

I did and Eli Ben-Porat (who contributes to BA) absolutely LOVES him (though he acknowledges his love involves his projection that he gains more velocity)
But this obviously sounds more ominous. Hope the kid is well long term regardless.
Unlike the Tong/Gerber news which I can 100% say is accurate, the Williams "news" comes from somebody who acknowledges he hasn't heard the actual injury but that it would be "extended" stay on the IL. He gave an actual estimate but I don't want to suggest something is true until we hear more.
Game 1
Acuna 1-3, 2b
Ritter 1-3, K
Scott 4.2 innings 1 hit 1 run 0 walks 2 k's (Yup, again his 1 run allowed was a HR)
Gamel 2-3, 3B, K (probably surpassed Thompson as the veteran bat they would call up if there were a need in the OF/DH)
Game 2
Acuna 2-3, HR, 2 errors, OPS creeping up to a still non-outstanding .653 (6 for his last 20 with 3 extra base hits)
Gamel 1-2, 2B 2 k's
Thompson 2-4, K
Cortes 2-3, K

Lugo 0-4, 2 k's
Clifford 0-3, BB, K
ODLS 2-3, only hitting .207 BUT has 13 steals over his first 18 games.
McLean 3 innings 1 hit 0 runs 1 walk 2 k's
Simon 2 innings 3 hits 2 runs 1 walk 3 k's
Hawkins 1 inning 0 hits 0 runs 1 walk 2 k's (1.37 era over first 10 pro appearances)
St. Lucie
Mosquera 2-5
Vargas 0-2, 3 BB, SB, K (4 steals already over 4 games, 13 all of 2023)
Baez 3-5 (curious to see if/when they challenge him and send him to BK)
Suero 1-5, 2b, K (Early season breakout prospect)
Peterson (rehab) 2 perfect 5 k's
Mercedes 4 innings 3 hits 2 runs 2 walks 10 k's (20 for the entire season)
Wenninger 1.1 innings 3 hits 4 runs 0 walks 1 k
id still like to see him get a shot at some point. i know he isn't mcneil defensively, but i could see him having a sneaky chance to hit in mlb. he's turning 27 so i guess he's officially a nonprospect now but if there's a guy in the org who has a surprising august like DJ last year, id guess it's him.
acknowledges he doesn't have any scouting background at all. He's a data forward baseball writer anyway...
"The cutter/slider has ideal velocity at 86 mph, and is the type of pitch that usually pairs very well with an elite riding fastball. It’s currently mowing hitters down with a 62% whiff rate and 32.5% swinging strike rate, and given the quality of the fastball, I wouldn’t be surprised to see it continue to perform really well as he moves up. It’s somewhat concerning that he doesn’t have the confidence to throw it to lefties, where he prefers to throw the curve and change.
This is the Jared Jones / Spencer Strider template. In my opinion, Tong is the fourth-best pitching prospect in all of the minor leagues right now."

Wow that is really high praise. I need to see more to even think he's at the top 40 right now.
? is that why they won't sign Alvarez to an extension?
He's a catcher yes, but no. He's 17 and likely 4-5 years away if they are lucky. LAD routinely adds top C's despite having Will Smith and Cartaya. They used their top pick in 2022 on Dalton Rushing.

Yeah I said upper minors so only meant AAA and AA. Those 2 are bringing up the ranks in High A and Low A for sure.
Not sure it matters or not but Mayer tweeted that Binghamton is being bought by a company that owns other minor league teams. Not sure which ones.
Also Jesus Luzardo with elbow discomfort now for Miami. Yikes.
Stuart and Tong with great starts!
Pitching has been unreal.

Zero on field difference but expect a name change.

I was thinking more a city change but I believe they recently extended with Bing in the last few years tying them down.

Drew Smith is going on the IL with right shoulder inflammation. The Mets are hopeful he is back about when eligible. His MRI was fine.
