idiocy, and meanness, I love BBI. I have spent an insane amount of my life reading and posting on this site. While I am sure improvements are possible, I think it is pretty darn awesome as it is.
And porn would fail to be a differentiator since it is available everywhere! Plus I hate to think what some of you would have as your preferred porn.
I REALLY think a way to see your posts and responses to them would be immensely helpful. That way you don't have to wade through endless comments to see if anyone responded.
but it would be nice if politics weren't entirely off the table. some of those old discussions on market, economic policy and politics were really good and informative.
I fully understand why it won't happen, and I get it.
I'm a regular on the vintage mustang forum, and having the basic ability to delete/edit comments as well as rich text options (no bbcode needed) The option to have conversations directly with other members, get alerts when somebody responds to a post/comment.
I hate the reddit/tumblr style of collapsing tree comments.
With all of that said, I've grown accustomed to this site since the pre registration days and it's not broke. Could it be better? sure, but it's BBI. We are the website version of The dad's lazy-boy on Frasier, and there is something redeeming in it.
I know there's a "My Threads" menu option but this would be nice to carry on a discussion or to see if people agree with you or you are getting slammed.
Be easier to read on my phone. The formatting is bad for that somehow. The text is really small. To make it readable, I am constantly having to scroll left and right.
Maybe it is my fault because I don't know how to make the settings right. IDK.
if they like your post. And it would turn the post another color after a predetermined number of likes. That way you can skim posts the community deems worthy, and skip over some of the silly or redundant posts.
Medium Pepsi redeemable at your local convenience store when you hit a certain number of posts. Also allow a political thread. That would surely be enjoyable to read through considering the opinions of BBI posters and the current state of the union. Still keep politics out of posts unless it's posted in the politics thread.
The only two functional changes I'd make are 1) improving the mobile break points for the forum 2) improving the reply function so that only the last comment is in the reply
and use adopt REAL forum software, like phpbb, or something similar that allows WYSIWYG formatting. I was one of the first 5 people at BBI in 1994 and the forum looks the same now as it did then. I've run a guitar web site for 25 years and I've changed the forum software at least 5 times to improve functionality. It's not that hard to do (especially if you have Admin staff). Also, if you don't want banned people coming back, insist on registering with a real email account. No freemail or proxy server accounts (Yahoo, MSN, gmail, etc.).

Here is something that drives me absolutely nuts and I would love to see fixed.
Every time I post, literally every time there is some ad that somehow pops me out of the text box while I am typing. Literally multiple times every time I type. Not sure if it's an ad refresh, that stupid pop up on the bottom of the screen maybe... but it drives me nuts. It happened at least 5x just typing this post. Arrgh.
The Giants have played 3 playoff games total since 2011. The worst decade plus of Giants football since the 1970s. Yet during that time the BBI forum has grown, thrived and built a loyal following by giving us all, regardless of our opinions, a voice that we know is heard by the people that cover, work for and own the Giants.
Kudos to Eric and the BBI team for managing the frustrations and personalities of somewhat anonymous keyboard GMs and coaches.
A like/dislike "button" might be interesting. A way to take a conversation off forum one on one could be a nice feature too but there's a chance for unintended consequences with that one.
There are a small handful of posters who are just so painfully tedious and post on just about every single thread especially the contentious ones... They consistently offer little to no insight and post for no other reason than they didn't get enough attention as children... They know who they are... They admit it and they don't really care how they diminish the site...
BBI used to be more self-policed... It was more of a locker room mentality... If you were an annoying little brat, you heard it... You were put in your place and maybe you did a bit of self-reflection before your next post...
What I miss most is the BBI COMEDY... Maybe I just don't check as much when I got married and had kids, but there used to be some absolute comic GOLD on the NFTs particularly in the 2006-2010 timeframe... I have never laughed so hard as on some of those LEGENDARY comedy threads (Tommer, BavaroFan piss pants, etc)...
My gut says that a lot of those very tedious, self-obsessed "look at me" posters have chased away a lot of the fun and funny gamesmanship that used to be on this site...
That being said, it's the first website that I open every single day since 1995 and I don't see that ever changing... A huge thanks to Eric as it's the best NY Giants site by far!
Just my $0.02 on what has changed over the years...
Maybe I haven’t changed settings on my phone but..
I do a lot of BBI reading on my phone and it’s annoying that the conversation doesn’t automatically correct to screen size. If possible, a function that would condense the text to fit on the screen instead of having to pan right and left to continue reading the post
Jim Nabors is at least in the neighborhood. Two years of head coach Pat 'Amy' Schumer nearly killed me!
We dont need your own personal fantasies included at BBI.
And porn would fail to be a differentiator since it is available everywhere! Plus I hate to think what some of you would have as your preferred porn.
This would be particularly helpful on Game Day threads.
umm, BBi has this already.
I fully understand why it won't happen, and I get it.
I wish people could act like adults.
Invite Jerry Reese and Dave Gettleman to host a "who's more handsome contest" each week.

2) Like/dislike posts without having to comment

Haha. That’d go swimmingly…

Would Big Butt Interactive be more to your liking?

Yes, and I cannot lie.
uuuuummmmmmm
Some kind of like/dislike or up/down vote system. That would send the shitty posts to the bottom so people could ignore them easier.
The forum is beyond dated. I get that some of you like the charm of that, but I would much prefer a more modern format.
Which guitar website?
I got a whole lotta shit to say to you people.

Hope that makes sense
