I'm at the point where I don't even care who they draft anymore.
While I think he goes 2, man...if Daniels is there @ 3...I'd be on board for doing whatever we can to get him. Hell, I'll cut the grass at Gilette for the next 5 months prior to the start of the season.

The back up plan is to let the draft come to them, if McCarthy falls he will or ably be the pick. If they are all gone it’s WR or trade out.

According to GiantGrit, Schoen is not taking JJM at 6. I'm wondering if Schoen is just leaking things to people in different departments so there's a lot of contradictory information out there (including the NYG beatwriters and our asshats). That would be a wise strategy if you feel there are leaks in the ship. Tell different departments all sorts of contradictory information all the while only your inner circle of 3 guys knows your real thoughts. Especially don't tell Chris Mara.

I don't either. I just want them to NOT fuck up the pick. Just get a damn difference maker! If they LOVE a QB, great, but they fucking better be right about it -- especially if they have to trade up. Get a stud WR? Great! Get an OT and settle the OL once and for all? I'm good there too.
Nothing against Thomas, or Lawrence but without looking it up, I can't even remember the last time the Giants drafted a true difference maker that other teams feared. Probably Beckham. It wasn't Barkley. Teams could mostly keep Barkley from beating them.

IF they LOVE a QB, they already know how much they'd be willing to give to trade up for that guy -- and how much is TOO much. They already know what they'll do if they can't make that trade. They also already know that if a QB they don't LOVE falls in their lap at 6, whether they'd trade down, how far, or just pick their BPA. The Giants have already planned for all foreseeable contingencies.

+1 this is my read on it. Take Odunze at 6 and see if Penix slides to the back of rd1! If the Vikings take Maye or JJM, Broncos take Nix, Raiders take OT or CB, seahawks pass, then Penix is sliding within reasonable reach.

I just don't see anything special with Maye. Do I think he can be a good QB, yes. But someone to trade the farm for? I am not sure.

Post draft, lots of disappointment on what the team decides to do.
Mix in some false hope about an improved offensive line, and we have the blueprint for our off season every year.
