Intangibles when evaluating a prosect

Intangibles
For all of you who have played sports, how do you rate the intangibles when evaluating a player, teammate, or prospect?
All of us know of that guy who just had it. He always came up big in the biggest spots.
He could be the most talented but sometimes he was just clutch.

This is the player who.
Makes the game-winning hit, outstanding fielding play, or strikes out the opposition. (Derek Jeter)

The player who makes a basketball shot steals the ball, or blocks a shot that wins a game, (Magic Johnson)

The winning football player who always seems to will their team. The player who blocks a kick, catches the game-winner, or escapes pressure to make a big-time throw, (Eli Manning)

Some players transcend their ability and become great in the biggest moments.

So, I question how important is it to select players who demonstrate these characteristics.
I was fortunate to play with a select few players who I could always count on, and they stirred the drink and got the best out of me and my teammates. I will always view and evaluate players for those traits.
There are different intangibles

What you're describing is clutch. It can be easy to evaluate for some, hard for others. A QB playing on a bad team that continuously leads the to wins when trailing, there you go, you can see it. Someone playing for an Ohio State or Alabama who rarely plays in a tight game, it can be tough to tell.

has going for him, is his intangibles.
I like Odunze best of the WRs because of his intangibles.
Clutch

Perhaps clutch is a better term.
I think that is underrated when looking at prospects.

It is real. And it shows up in competitiveness.
Everyone knows friends who refuse to lose and are competitive in everything they do. Everything becomes life and death.

I will always have those players on my team.

How hard is a guy willing to work and can he handle struggling right off the bat.

Eli struggled early and ended up a 2x Super Bowl winner. Then there's JaMarcus Russell.
