DL Jordan Phillips contract details with the Giants, per source: 1 year, $1.8M with $430K guaranteed. It's not a VSB deal, so the cap hit is $1.8M.
If you are going to have a DL that penetrates and plays the run on the way to the QB then LBs become crucial because they aren't getting much help. I feel like LB hasn't been talked about at all.

The question here is how many inside linebackers will actually be on the field? From what I can tell, the Titans were in nickel and dime packages a ton.

Yep, so then safety is that next group. I know we are all intrigued by what Bowen will bring. We know he doesn't like to blitz but will be exotic and wants his DL attacking. I'm curious at the skillset he wants from the rest of the players (LB, S, and CB). I'm assuming he wants CBs that can tackle.
What? It's still a low end contract. It doesn't mean anything with respect to the draft.
But look at the depth chart. If the season were to start today, he'd probably start.
Phillips hasn't played 500 snaps in 5 years. He'll certainly be in the rotation. But I doubt the plan is Phillips and Davidson.
Another year under Patterson and getting stronger, why not?

One of the more fascinating story lines to watch, and can one of these two press for starting time?
