Maye Be we will get 8 this year!
Something something weapons something something
Jones has 9 1st Quarter TD Passes in his career! 9 total since 2019. 3 of those 9 came in his rookie season. He had 3 more in 2020.. That means 2022 & 2023 he had a combined 3 1st quarter TD passes.. 3...
Jones has 62 career TD passes.
10 of those 62 are against Washington (7 games played)
He has thrown a combined 9 TD passes against the Eagles and Cowboys (13 games played)
Jones has 1 more TD pass against Washington than he does against both Philly and Dallas combined in 4 less games played against Washington.
Jones TD Passes (Field position)
own 1-10 0 TD Passes
Own 1-20 0 TD Passes
Own 21-50 7 TD Passes
Opp 49-20 17 TD Passes
Red Zone 38 TD Passes
Opp 1-10 32 TD Passes
That means for the most part we are not getting big plays down the field. We are having to manufacture a lot of plays to score and even more so, of Jones's 38 TD Passes in the red zone, 32 of them are from 10 yards and in..
Having guys like Hyatt, Slayton etc will be wasted if we are not striking from further out.
We need a QB that can attack the opposition from anywhere on the field..

Your QB is allergic to throwing TDs.
Something something weapons something something
"No QB could operate in this scenario." <undrafted, practice squad player outperforms Jones.> "Jones was missing Andrew and needs more time!>
We need a QB
This is all that needs to be said.
Always look on the bright side.

In those 18 games, Giants scored 2 first quarter TDs: one by DeVito against Commanders and one by Mike Glennon against the Chargers in 2021.
The DeVito one was fresh in mind but I had to go back and see how Glennon managed the rare feat. A 75 yard drive, the great bulk of which was a 60 yard pass play to Kyle Rudolph, the longest reception of his entire career and about 25% of the total yardage he gained as a Giant.
Chargers should have been embarrassed with the way that let Rudolph rumble and stumble down the field.
That leaves 6 1Q TDs in the last 33 regular season games with Jones at QB since 2021. But there were 2 in the playoff game vs Vikings. And that's all that mattered for the people who mattered.
We are and have been a bottom 3-5 team in NFL. We haven’t been close to average or mediocre and stats like this demonstrate it
