The Cardinals and Eagles have settled a tampering investigation by trading picks in the 2023 and 2024 draft. Specifically, they're swapping third-round picks in 2023 (a 28-pick difference), and the Cardinals will receive the Eagles' fifth-round pick in 2024.
I see little chance in hell of this happening. It would be completely unprecedented.
With something like that you are not only hurting the Falcons, but also hurting the other trade up candidates like the Giants, Broncos and Raiders because you are improving the Viking's trade up position without them having to give up anything. The Philly-Arizona pick swap did not impact any other teams because it was a swap of third round picks among teams that did not have any obvious trade up hopes. Would not surprise me if the league announces something after the 1st round where Minnesota gets something like a #2 or #3 from Atlanta next year so its impactful but is not something the Vikings can use to trade up in the first round.
It'd be completely unprecedented in the modern NFL. His only example of a similar thing happening was with 3rd round picks and both teams agreed to it. There is no chance Atlanta would willingly go along with this. Could the league try and do it anyway? Sure, but given how rampant tampering is these days, the league won't want to set such a precedent because it could dramatically change the first round of the draft every single year.
Because teams swapped third round picks last year, maybe this year the punishment will be swapping first round picks? If anything, the magnitude of the punishment last year seems like pretty compelling evidence that it would be less than a first round swap for the Falcons and Vikings.
Because Cousins is the ultimate mercenary. Tamper proof because all he cares about is the biggest contract, not that there is anything wrong with that.
I got the idea this was wild speculation from Florio last week
This just isn’t happening, unless the NFL finally decided to go after tampering, which they have shown little indication to do. Last year’s 3rd round pick swap means there will be a 1st round this year has to be some of the worst logic I’ve seen from a respected NFL analyst in some time. Just absurd.
Not if you want them to keep their draft capital and draft BPA WR
For the Eagles tampering they would make Philly swap 1st round picks with us :)
He's just speculating, I doubt it.

makes moving up easier for them, those 3 spots are big.

Yeah if you don’t want a QB I get it but this could decrease our options which isn’t good.

Do you want them to draft WR or do you want them to draft BPA?
Listing a specific position is kind of the antithesis of "BPA."
