13 Joe Alt, OT Notre Dame
14 Giovanni Manu, OT Univ of British Columbia
15 Cooper Beebe, OG Kansas St
16 Jordan Morgan, OL Arizona

17 Adisa Isaac, Edge Penn State
18 Dallas Turner, Edge Alabama
19 Chop Robinson, Edge Penn State

20 Kristian Boyd, DT Northern Iowa
21 Maason Smith, DT LSU
22 Jer'Zhan (Johnny) Newton, DT Illinois

25 Chau Smith-Wade, CB Washington St
26 Max Melton, CB Rutgers
27 Andru Phillips, CB Kentucky
28 Evan Williams, DB Oregon
29 Kool-Aid McKinstry, CB Alabama
30 Chigozie Anusiem, CB Colorado St

Note: Robinson, Melton, and Johnson all visited on Thursday, April 4th- the same date as the Giants local pro day. Were their visits Top 30 or local? Currently I am including them as the list grows toward 30.

Team visits are held with players for 3 reasons:

1. To further review medical questions.
2. To further confirm a strong interest in drafting a player
3. To eliminate a player from the Giants draft board

Draft decisions will change from year to year, but its worth noting that of the Giants 30 visits last year, 4 of those players were then drafted by the Giants (Banks, JMS, Hyatt, and Hawkins).

Worth noting that the NFL supplies all 32 teams with the complete list of each other teams Top 30 visits. Local writers usually provide fans with a solid list of their teams Top 30, though not official.

1/5 of the visits have been for quarterbacks.
I've watched Theo Johnson a hand full of times this year

I think the kid is going to be special. I hope the Giants can grab him.

Two more QBs to add to the 30 visit list. Giants met with them at Senior Bowl, too.

Can spin this multiple ways.

Either further adding to the misdirection/smokescreen, realization that plan A and plan B are not happening, OR QB on day 2 has always been the plan and they wanted to sneak these visits in at the end to help hide their interest.

One other note - they clustered the day 1 WR’s together on the same day. Are they doing the same with day 2 QB’s? Wonder if Penix visit is this week too?

Wouldn't put too much stock into when the visits took place. Most likely just dates that lined up for both the Giants & the player due to our FO being on the road, players Pro-Day, workouts, off field meetings, personal stuff
Love the QBs they had visit. Rightbor wrong I like

Nix especially if we can't get one of the top 4. If we could get Nabors or Odunze then then trade up for Nix that would be great.

If you use 20% of your visits for one position, it's a strong indication that the front office regards that as a need, lol
Thanks for doing this. I like the way
ZogZerg : 4/17/2024 10:51 am : link
you are presenting this by position!

Remember when some folks were insisting the Giants weren't interested in QB? 20% of your visits for one position screams otherwise.
Why no visit for Brock Bowers?
Rod in St Cloud : 4/17/2024 11:03 am : link
It seems odd that he is not in the 30 visits. Are they not interested? Does it mean Waller is not retiring? No interest even in a trade down? Does it signal we are certain to take one of the Wrs if we don't take a QB? Or do we just not think he's worthy? Curious!

Maybe they have no questions about him. maybe they see taking a TE high in the first round is not a good idea.
Drafting a QB
mfjmfj : 4/17/2024 12:39 pm : link
with a high pick is clearly one of the biggest decisions a GM makes and can define his entire career. Even if the chance of drafting one of these guys is small you have to interview them as much as possible. Add the smoke screen value and it is flat out dumb not to interview any reasonable QB as often as you can.

At 6 it’s either WR or QB. Picking Alt at 6 would be a fireable offense after so much resources have been spent on the OL.

Not many other 1st rounders in the group so leads me to believe a trade back isn’t that likely unless they are looking at a pass rusher. That would be a big red flag considering they have 2 starters they invested a lot in. I know you can’t have enough pass rushers but to draft a backup/part timer is rough.

CB seems 2nd or 3rd round.

My guess is still WR in 1st, Nix/Pennix in 2nd or a CB. 3rd round hopefully Benson is available.
Only 1 RB? Very odd, unless

they plan on going into season depending on a Singletary, Gray RBBC

They didn't have Gray in last year on a 30 visit, and they also only did one last year. Might just be a product of how they value the position more generally.

Giants had a virtual meeting with Memphis RB Blake Watson. Solid production and frame and ran 4.39
Solid Day 3 option

With all the holes on this team, it is very possible they just concluded there is little likelihood that they would spend a first round pick on a TE.

Having said that, I am sure they scouted him and if they traded down and presented value, they would have no problem selecting him.
A week

ago, Bowers held a private workout at Georgia.

He spent time being worked out and later meeting with Tim Kelly, the Giants new TE coach.

This should remain pinned through the draft
