If I had to give my best educated guess and that is all this is, then I think the Giants want one of Williams, Daniels, or Maye. If they aren't able to get one of them then I think they are seriously thinking of a trade down. If they stay at 6, they have done their homework on the top 3 WR and that is a good option. But the other option would be trading back. If a team makes a nice offer to us, we move back, gain additional picks, and could now be looking at Penix or Nix while also having more picks to go after Aiyuk. So, it is either we are able to get Maye at 4 with a slight trade up or add some risk by trading back but being able to get that next tier of QB and an all-pro WR.
I personally think Schoen has missed more than he has hit and has a lot to prove but he seems to be prepared for many different options which is what he should be doing.
What do you all think? I think trading up to 3 is going to be too rich for us if NE even wants to trade out.
WR is option B if they get leapfrogged at 4 or 5 and JJM isn’t there. Trade down I can see as option C but I don’t think it would be that far, they’d need to be in play for a QB still and that’s a huge risk.
If they miss on QB I think they will be happy to get a top WR.
If they get a QB I think the Aiyuk rumors make a lot of sense - though I think they will probably get outbid by another team.
I do think the first 2 picks are very likely to result in some combination of QB/WR.
Schoen also has a plan in case they can't get one of the targeted quarterbacks. Possibly trading down if they can get a great offer, but prepared to select a player at 6 (most likely wide receiver) if they don't like what is offered.
Schoen does very well to keep all of his options open, so he isn't surprised by anything that happens on draft day.
If we stay at 6 it’s Harrison, Nabers, Odunze
There's little doubt in my mind they like Maye. What I am saying is what do you think their plan is? Theybhave no control about trading up so what is the plan if they can't?
But the price to move up could be massive and we do have a lot of needs. You also have to contrast all of that with the fact that by staying put they are guaranteed to get a blue chip player in position of need. So that all complicates the outcome.
I am less sure how they feel about JJM or Nix/Penix. They could love these guys or not see them as answers.
b) Trade up to #4 to get Drake Maye if he slips
c) Sit at #6 and take JJM.
I don't advocate for #3, but I think the Giants will do that if Maye if off the board and JJM is there at #6.
The only thing I would add is I am pounding the table for 2 trade backs if the correct offers come in.

All 3 will be knocking on our door when our pick is on the clock.
If Schoen plays his card right we could trade there...
Lets say we do and a player that Pitt wants later in the draft is still on the board,I am all for trading back again a 2nd time...asumming the offer makes sense that 2nd time
We need someone on the offensive side of the ball (other than our LT) who is elite. Who can worry defenders and DCs. Right now we don't have anyone on the roster who you need to take away. We are an easy to team to scheme right now.
I doubt Joe Schoen would agree with that. They are trying to compete in 2024. I doubt the plan is to collect 2nd and 3rd round picks.
Aiyuk would only make sense if Daniels/Maye is drafted at six, but Legette to me is the better value proposition for this team with the second pick given that this is the launch of the post DJ Era rebuild. If it is Nabers or Odunze at six, then I would move mountains to trade up to get Penix.
I can't understand why the giants aren't in a super position because 6/7 picks are above the rest. Even if 4 QB's go, the WR group is so outstanding I can't believe there isn't a way to minimally trade back while being ahead of the other teams to get the QB.
If they only think that Penix and Nix are "decent only" such as believing either of these guys is a 2nd rd pick, then you don't hold high value with them but "decent value" instead.
Waiving that WR or even OT chip in front of teams at the 6 pick should be able to warrant a small trade back while ensuring you can get the QB Penix or Nix if you like them.
I see on here at times some say if Vikes stand pat at 11 or Denver at 12 they can potentially get Penix and/or Nix. If this is considered an acceptable alternative for them then it shouldn't be too bad if the Giants trade back to 9 or 10 and get either if they like them a lot rather than getting so fixated on "value."

+1 for trade up too for Penix (or Nix) after they get the 6 pick WR if they like either a lot.
There are some really good SBs, edge rushers and talented wrs.
Find the right QB and the rebuild is over. Time to go championship hunting. Plenty of dudes in this draft that could become that franchise guy, no guarantee, obviously. But I think we have to take that swing.
Best scenario Maye falls to six which is highly unlikely
Very good scenario JJM falls to six probably unlikely
Good scenario Nabers or Odunze at six
Reluctant scenario give up next years one to land Maye or JJM plus this years six and a late round pick
If Schoen gives up next years one for Maye and he flops he might become an ex GM
If Schoen gives up next years one for JJM and he is a disaster Schoen and Daboll will be shown the door
I just don't believe any of these two qbs are worth the risk because sad to say even with either of them I think we will be picking in the top ten next year. The price is too rich for me.
