Are we in a 2 Year Rebuild Mode now?

AROCK1000 : 4/18/2024 2:20 pm
This topic has come up on several threads,so I felt it was worthy of its own....
Schoen's comments at the podium today verify what we all know.
The Giants have holes both on Offense and Defense.
Our QB position is iffy at best, and we have no Weapons...and major major question marks at OL.
Sy talked about the glaring hole at CB2 today, and we need to replace X at the Safety position.
My feeling is we need to embrace this and take our medicine now...other wise we will be in this endless loop of shittyness.
I hear alot of clamoring for a QB but to me,it is a real team killer, especially trading up to get it.
Does taking a QB like JJ,or even a WR1 make sense given all of the other gaps in the team.
I have been pounding the table for a trade back to accumulate various top 50 or top 75 players in this and possibly next years draft.
Trying to fix this quickly will only wind up hurting us in the long run.
How many threads do you want to start on trading down?

We get it.
Rebuild hasn't started yet

There is no QB on the roster in the long term plans.

I feel like we’ve been rebuilding for a decade.

Yes there is, Daniel Jones!
Get the right QB...
IchabodGiant : 4/18/2024 2:39 pm : link
and there will be no rebuild.
I am not sure.....that kind of thinking even works anymore
George from PA : 4/18/2024 2:39 pm : link
We must settle in on the coaches 1st....although, new DC.....highly regarded establish DL and DB position...and a more simplified approach should gain traction quickly.

The offense will not be great....but if OL can block a little..will be a great improvement..they can hold their own.

Today, NFL teams are not without holes....especially when injuries hit....the question is how they handle.....great coaching is more important than ever

What do you think we should do next week? Trade down? (grin)
We are entering year 12

Why do you guys like cliches and labels so much
UConn4523 : 4/18/2024 3:45 pm : link
there’s no blueprint to follow, how would we know when the rebuild starts and ends? You stink until you don’t and right now we stink.
And you continue to undervalue QB
UConn4523 : 4/18/2024 3:50 pm : link
you can fix this team quickly, so that part of your post isn’t true. You do that by nailing QB.
no we're in the PRE-BUILD
Darwinian : 4/18/2024 3:53 pm : link
.
Trade back
giantstock : 4/18/2024 4:25 pm : link
And do both get a very good QB and a very good WR.
Reading the tea leaves

Of Schoens presser,he seems to have the blessing from Mara....otherwise why mention having holes on O and D??
Ten years
thrunthrublue : 4/18/2024 6:17 pm : link
Of being in the nfc east basement…..not worrying if there is cabinet space for a fifth Lombardi……many seasons competitively over by Halloween….revolving (time lapse blur) door of utterly incompetent coaches…..it’s more like still sorting through the rubble than rebuilding.

If no JJM or Maye for a reasonable cost, trade back with eyes on Penix is my move. I started a thread on this the other day and Eric focused on it in this podcast I'm looking forward to hearing.

It worries me enough to trade down and hope to get him vs just taking him at 6, but doesn't worry me enough to not take him after getting a nice haul for trading down. Then the risk is worth the reward to me.
I hope so!
