Good ESPN article on Rattler…

Spider56 : 4/19/2024 1:28 pm
I know he has warts but I’ve always liked him… he’s got moxie.
Anybody know who the guy is in the Giants shirt watching him?

The picture is at the combine and Immthinking it’s Shea Tierney.

IMO working with Shea and Dabs would turn

his talents into a monster QB - He just needs the right coach -the ability and intangibles are there, and he has matured thru adversity.. Let him work and grow he will be exactly what we want
I was a bit down on him,

inconsistent performance combined with some maturity issues, but I’m coming around on him. He certainly has the talent, and outside of Legette, SC was a shit show talent-wise. I think it’s fair to say Rattler had the worst supporting cast of any of the top 10 QB prospects. That and the reports that he grew up a lot after his time at Oklahoma.

The last thing I’m worried about is his height, I do think that gets overstated a bit. I mean, Caleb Williams is the same height, that isn’t stopping him from going first.
If not Maye...

...which looks likely at this point...I really want Rattler at #47.
Short, legend in his own mind

The kid is an ass... plus everything you said. He is small, not that talented, and I want nothing to do with him. I would rather take a chance on Milton who is big with the strongest arm, and raw.
I could see Rattler in the third

Part of thinks it would be a waste but the other part of me show is what they got out of Tommy Cutlets so who knows.

I will say when I watch him play I keep seeing a lot of Tyrod Taylor in him so could see how the Giants might take a flyer on his development and at worst case have a cost controlled development backup/bridge.

But it seems crazy that if you are willing to take that risk you would be more than willing risk taking one of top ones at 6

But if you traded down in the first for a bunch of extra picks, then I could see this be in play because you might be more willing to take the risk
I would be over the moon if we got him at 47

This guy is criminally underrated by fans. His arm talent is much better than he gets credit for and he processes very well. Most of the people who say he sucks haven't really watched him. He completed almost 70% of his passes at SC with very little talent around him against the best competition in college football. I'd take him any day of the week over these guys in the consensus top five QBs.
He’s not good.

Unfortunately he is likely an upgrade for us. The guy gets multiple delay of game penalty’s per game. His stud receiver made him look better than he is.
