Chad Reuter ESPN: Seven-round 2024 NFL mock draft:

GFAN52 : 4/19/2024 2:26 pm
1. Bears - Williams
2. Commanders - Daniels
3. Patriots - Maye
4. Giants - McCarthy - The Daniel Jones Era could be coming to a close in New York. Remember, he wasn't this administration's pick, and the Giants signed Drew Lock in March to the sort of deal a team often gives a veteran before selecting a first-round quarterback. The Giants trade a second-round pick this year and next (while possibly receiving a 2024 Day 3 selection in return) to jump up two slots, out-offering other potential suitors looking to leap into the Cardinals' spot.

The trade up cost is reasonable, whether it's possible I have no idea.
Penix lasts until pick 33.

Where he ends up will be very interesting. One of the bigger unknowns of the draft. Could be anywhere from pick 6-day 2. I'm guessing NFL front offices have a better idea of where he will go than we do. If Schoen feels confident he could be had via small trade up from pick 47, then I would absolutely love getting Odunze then Penix.

Nubin and Orhorhoro last till the 4th round? Seriously?
if the Giants

can get away trading up while keeping next year's #1, that would be ideal (obviously).

Minnesota is going to offer #11, #23, and next year's #1 most likely (and maybe more). We heard that crazy offer that Denver might be considering.

Would be ok with trading our first if say we could swap our 3rd next year for their 2nd. Obviously prefer to keep our first but if they believe in the QB, go get him.

I firmly believe with better o line play Daboll could get this team, even with Lock at QB to around 500. So it could be harder to get the QB next year
The Giants are not trading up for a QB

Without trading next years #1. There are better offers out there. When there are multiple teams wanting to trade for a QB the price goes up.

The only thing the Giants have in their favor is the 6th pick, Arizona could still get their #1 Wr. But they most likely could get at least their 3rd WR at 11. Plus another good player at 23 and next years 1.

I don’t care if they take a QB or not but if they trade next years #1 that would be a terrible trade. Whoever is playing QB this year with Slayton, Robinson and Hyatt is bound to fail and next year we will be looking at a top 5 pick going to another team.

Every year stuff like this happens, and every year fans chastise any prediction outside of the most commonly held groupthink as if the latter were gospel

Very unlikely MHJ, Nabers or Odunze last until 11.
