Assume the first two picks are Caleb Williams to Chicago at #1 and Jayden Daniels to the Commanders at #2.
New England is on the clock and they are open to a trade down, but nothing less than #6, #47, 2025 #1 and #3.
1) I trade up to #3 and select ______.
If you don’t make the trade up to #3. Let’s assume the Vikings do and select Drake Maye.3rd The Cardinals have already said they will swap #4 for #6, #70 when they are on the clock.
2) I trade up to #4 to select_____.
The picks at #4 and #5 are the unknowns in this scenario.
3) I stay at #6 and hope to get one of (Name 3).
4) I trade back from #6 with my ideal landing spot being #___ to select _____.
It’s a BBI mad lib!
2. JJM
3. JJM, Maye, Nabers
4. 12, Quinyon Mitchell or Bowers
If you didn’t get #3 the Vikings did at they took Maye. McCarthy and Nabers may still be there, but you need one more guy (Denver may trade up with AZ and grab McCarthy at #4).
Rules are rules!
We don’t. That’s why the question is what would you do if it were your decision. There is already plenty of conjecture on what the Giants will do.
#2 make that move take JJM
#3 depends on how #3 & #4 fall
#4 only if I also work a deal to select Nix or Penix
Under no circumstances trade the 2025 #1.
No cheating! Getting to #4 costs you #70. Cardinals won’t go lower.
draft Murphy/Newton at 12.
trade 47 for Aiyuk.
Amagadjie at 70
Milton at 107
RB in 5(may require slight move up from 166 or dowm from 107)
TE/S in 6
draft Murphy/Newton at 12.
trade 47 for Aiyuk.
Amagadjie at 70
Milton at 107
RB in 5(may require slight move up from 166 or dowm from 107)
TE/S in 6
Yeah, get Aiyuk and Surtain with no rookie qb contract. That sounds good for the cap.

If he's not there then trade up to 4 for Maye. Try to get it done for pick 6, 107 and 2025 2nd.

That's fine then.
draft Murphy/Newton at 12.
trade 47 for Aiyuk.
Amagadjie at 70
Milton at 107
RB in 5(may require slight move up from 166 or dowm from 107)

I like it! I think you may be a little bit generous with the deal from the Broncos, but coming away from this draft with a #1 corner, a #1 WR and the other talent would be great. The only thing I would do differently is grab Penix at #12 (if still there) and obviously someone other than Milton at #107 if I landed Penix.
That is what the draft is all about. Especially since he will be this generation’s LT!
Quote:
get 12, 2025 1st and Surtain.

If they trade the farm for Maye or McCarthy yay. If they stay and take Rome or Nabers, yay. If they trade back and get more capital, yay.
I guess if they stay and take Alt or Brock or Dallas, I will be frustrated.
I'd love to get a QB but I'm really warming to the team building route a trade down would take us.
This roster has so many holes that I would not want to trade up. However, that opinion is based on my current knowledge. If I had all of Schoen's knowledge and fell in love with a QB, I'd consider it.
I would only trade back with a generous offer like the Denver deal being discussed - #12 this year, their first next year and Patrick Surtain. Then I would take Penix at #12 and trade our second pick this year for one of the top WRs being discussed - Aiyuk, Hopkins or Higgins.
If Schoen executes this properly, he should come away with Penix and an elite wide receiver by the end of day in either case.
The Giants and this other party are potentially bidding for the 4th spot. It's not like you have to sit there and guess completely blind. The team at 4 is going to shop the pick to us and others, or not, and just stand pat.
If the number 4 stands pat, the same logic for 5 and so on.
Then trade down another few spots if available for another 2nd rounder
Draft
Brian Thomas WR
Now you got two second round picks
DT. Byron Murphy
LG. Cooper Beebe
Now you got two third rounders and two fourth rounders
Jaylen Wright RB
Theo Johnson TE
Kitan Oladapo SS
Jordan Jefferson
We now have two CB1’s
If need be wait for QB next year
Any need this team has isn't close to the need of QB.
I'd stay at 6 and if you love a player there take him. If not, trade down with a team looking for either - the QB you don't like that's there or to jump the Titans for whichever OT they want.
Sorry, didn't follow the rules. In the proposed situation, I pick #3 - stay put and (with CW, JD, DM gone) select Harrison, Nabers, or McCarthy. UNLESS #4 trading with Titans is a possiblitiy, in which case I still likely pick one of those same three.
If I could trade up to #1 I would and select Caleb Williams.
This would result in one less draft pick this year but that doesn't bother me (and shouldn't bother anyone). I get my franchise QB without paying a huge cost. I begin to fill the rest of the holes in 2025 via the draft and free agency. Yes, there are many holes on the team but I've filled the biggest one without sacrificing multiple premium picks.
