Yes, Dak is a lot better than people think. I wouldn't want him for outrageous coin, but he's in a different stratosphere talent wise than Jones. As for the postseason, he's not clutch, but hell...@ this rate, I'd sign up to get into the postseason each season like Dallas does.

If John Mara said tomorrow we are going to trade up for a QB and he's going to average the above numbers for his career everybody on this message board would sign up for it in a heartbeat.

Be prepared for an expensive veteran if QB isn't addressed this year. Punting QB is not a viable option.

Dak threw 3 TDs or more in six regular season games in '23. I don't believe Jones has thrown a 3 TD game since '19.

I'm in 100% agreement. I've never rooted for Dak-even though he does seem like a good dude-but he's a fucking good QB. To argue otherwise is delusional.

is clearly better than what the Giants have now but I don’t know if he’s Super Bowl capable at that price. That Cowboys team has been stacked for years and can’t get over the hump.

I'm not saying he is bad, but he is overrated if you think he's elite or great. He's good, he puts up good numbers, but he won't get you a superbowl especially when you pay him 50+ aav.

but he's not going to be worth his ask. Further, there is a good sample size that the playoffs are his kryptonite. Thus, NFW.

The goal is to build the core of the team organically, especially the QB. Use the draft.

I think Dak's a damn good QB & I'd take him on the Giants tomorrow if I could. & of course the $ has to be taken into consideration...that's obvious.

If the Cowboys are where they are now with all those quality players on rookie deals and the o line they have, then we will never get to that level with Dak as QB unless maybe you say 3 years down the road we hit on several drafts and get to that level. Otherwise, we need free agents and the rookie qb contract to get there.

I absolutely think he's a great QB. How many QBs over a 114 game stretch are completing 67% of their passes, have 31k total yards, 230 total TDs and under 75 INTs? I'd bet it's a very small list.

Kirk Cousins is in that group too, yeah? The Cowboys haven't even begun to feel the effects of the contract they gave Dak, I believe that starts next year. There are very few QBs you could win with on a 50aav contract. It's so hard to build the roster with that unless you are sure he's the guy for the foreseeable future, then you can just keep restructuring the contract. The only way I do that is if the QB is clutch in the playoffs like Eli was. Otherwise, it's just not worth it to me.

If the Giants end up taking a top end receiver at 6 because they get squeezed out of QB market and draft a few more starter level players this for this season I have no problem with them signing Dak next offseason as Jones walks out the exit door.

RB: Singletary, 2024 mid-round draft pick, 2025 mid-round pick
WR: Nabers/Odunze/MHJ, Wan’Dale, Hyatt, 2025 draft pick
TE: Bellinger, 2024/2025 TE pick
OL: Thomas, Runyan, JMS, Eleumenor, Neal

Has had great teams yet he couldn't play above his norm and succeed when it mattered.

I’d take Dak or Cousins in a heartbeat over what we have today. In Cousins’ defense, the Vikings put some shitty defenses out there the last few years, especially 2022.

but I don't see it working money wise. Even if they cut Jones in '25 he's got, what, $24million dead money or something like that. Then they pay Dak $45/$50 million. That's an awful lot of cap space tied up in one position.

Another example of every quarterback sucking except Mahomes. Prescott is one of the top 5 best quarterbacks in the NFL. That he's never won much in the playoffs certainly doesn't make him suck.
