Do you think Washington has nightmares over Jayden Daniels

M.S. : 4/21/2024 9:45 am

becoming Robert Griffin III Part Deux?

Both had tremendous college production with their arms and their legs. And both have the same general build. We know what happened to RG3 -- a fantastic first year with 3,200 yards passing and over 800 yards rushing, and more importantly, he led a moribund Washington team of 5-11 the previous season to the playoffs his rookie year. And then the brutality of the NFL took its toll. And quickly.

Any institutional memory rattling around today's Washington hierarchy?
It's a completely different organization

From the owner on down.
I’ve wondered the same thing

But it’s only one factor in the decision.
It's a different regime...

Do you think Joe Schoen has nightmares about Ron Dayne?

The former Redskins were reckless with RG3 after he hurt his knee against the Giants. Presumably they won't do that again if Daniels were to get injured.

Yep
I wouldn't say nightmares

but it has to be a concern.

For every Lamar Jackson or Jalen Hurts who has avoided injury but continues to use their legs as a game plan option (not like a Mahomes or Allen who occasionally have a designed run) there is a Anthony Richardson who hasn't avoided injury.

Probably worth the risk though, you just need to have the right game plan and mindset about it to protect hin.
lol

Every regime has nightmares about picking their franchise QB...
I'm sure some fans will

But, he will bring a lot of excitement to DC.

I have nightmares he becomes an elite QB & torches us twice every fall for the next decade plus.
I personally

Think Daniels will be a bust. He’ll have flashes, won’t end up getting a second contract.
I think we're at the point if over-analyzing

every player now. I hate this part of April for that reason!
Honestly I think Chi is having nightmares about CW
EJNNJ : 4/21/2024 11:14 am : link
Between his personality and the possibility he'll be a TO machine i'd be nervous
No of course they don’t

Different player, different front office. Not sure why that would even be a question, unless you think all teams have nightmares about injuries to players they draft.
No

I think they will work hard with him to protect himself better as a runner. Try to cut down on his fleeing the pocket.

JA is a rare combo of size and athletic ability. BD ran a lot of the same run schemes with DJ that he did with JA. Learned schemes at Bama and both QB's had very close rushing numbers.

yes.
The sad part for me, as a JD fan...

I wanted him to get drafted by a team that I could root for when his team wasn't playing the Giants. Now I'll have to root for him to fail.
NO for two reasons

1. completely different organization, owner on down.
2. Daniels is a far better player.
I have nightmares over Jayden Daniels.

You can say that about every player

New owner, new team, new GM and coach. If they are having nightmares it relates to where they came from not where they are.

I don’t expect a lot out of Daniel’s. But he is going to a good situation with talent around him.
