If Maye is available at No. 3, I’d make an aggressive pitch to the Patriots. My lowball offer would be the Giants’ first-round pick (No. 6), second-round pick (No. 47) and a 2025 second-round pick. I doubt that would be accepted, however. My maximum trade offer would be No. 6, No. 47, a fourth-round pick (No. 107) and a 2025 first-round pick. |
LOL I was coming to say the same thing. If the difference in us getting Drake Maye & missing out on him is TJ Tampa & Ben Sinnott then Schoen better make that trade today lol
LOL
But when August rolls around and we're looking at a season with Jones or Lock starting, the reality of the situation is going to start hitting a lot of people.
I suspect ANY non-QB draft for you is going to be a problem.

Add to that, the wait for next year crowd could be looking at NYG with #16ish pick with multiple QB needy teams ahead of them and fewer highly rated QB prospects than this year.

that non QB one is pretty uninspiring. Not saying good or bad (nobody will truly know) but at first glance that non QB one is rough..

Not true but that is fine. I assume you believe that to be true for a few others here ( that you love to mention and hold dear) too.. But, you can't look at that non QB draft and go that is a great looking draft (first glance).. Come on now..
The team only has six picks.

Personally, I don't like the second round CB pick. I think I'd rather another defensive lineman or a TE in the second round.
Taking Nabers has to involve a real QB plan/option they have in mind than punt and hope for best in 2025.
If McCarthy is there and really unbelievably not their choice, then trade down and let Vikings, Broncos, Raiders have at him for a good haul.

It's easy to say now that the Giants can't draft the QB they don't have conviction on, etc. It's a completely fair thing to say.

And then they'll complain that we're in the market to pay Dak or Goff $55M a year.
The cupboard is empty, but let's not go to the store because you can't shop hungry.
And the Giants had Nubin in recently to evaluate his knee injury recovery. Nubin was an Academic All American 4 consecutive years. Has the smarts to contribute early.

why BBI'ers think this drafts are that far off... what are you guys expecting?

Really, taking a CB in round two is a deal breaker?
I suspect many Giants fans are going to have a difficult time on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday when reality sets in.
Ultimately I think we land Nabers, in the 2nd we grab a CB. After that it's anyones guess but I owuld bet there is a DT in there too.
